This is Peggy Lee's fan site, and some of the members there posted their thoughts about the Carnegie Hall event.
Many of them just lambasted everyone, just because none of them actually
was Peggy Lee herself. This is an understandable point of view for her dedicated fans.
We probably wouldn't much care for a tribute to Nancy done by a bunch of other girl singers. They just wouldn't be
her.
Thing is - I found this note from a Peggy Lee fan who had obviously never heard Nancy sing - at least not since "Boots" came out.
Dig it. A serious Peggy Lee fan is OK with our girl!
<< Nancy Sinatra is surprising talented ("Why Don't You Do Right?" and a "Lady And The Tramp" tribute). I never knew that she could sing so well. She should start touring.>>
Out of the mouths of babes! Or maybe some grizzled old buzzard who just knows good singing when he hears it!
