Every Apr. 15 major league baseball will honor Jackie Robinson. I try to honor Jackie everyday. I believe in and try to live by his epitaph "A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives." Unfortunately, the town where Jackie grew up (Pasadena) was lukewarm about his and his brother Mack's accomplishments. If you have the time, check out this 1997 article from Baseball Weekly.

I love LA. Lived there most of my life. I am listening to last night's Dodger game on mlb.com as I type. I love the San Gabriel Valley, some of my closest friends are from Pasadena, but the fact is that when it came to Jackie Robinson's legacy, Pasadena dropped the ball.
