*** question about Something: when was the last time Frank sang that song in the upbeat version, like in the greatest hits CD?

Hi Jason - the Lennie Hayton arrangement, that he had recorded on Oct. 28, 1970 (as heard on that CD), he only performed for a few months afterwards, e.g. at the Royal Festival Hall in November 1970 (Warner Video/DVD), and into 1971.
When he started singing "Something" again after his comeback, in spring 1975, he used a new Don Costa arrangement, which had notable differences especially at the beginning and relied heavily on the string section, but still kept an up-tempo middle part similar to the Hayton arrangement (but in a slightly more moderate tempo usually). This version remained unrecorded in the studio, but you can hear it e.g. on the 1975 Jerusalem concert (Artanis/Trama CD), and he also sang it on TV at the Jerry Lewis Telethon in September 1975.
By late 1977/early 1978, Sinatra had then switched to the Nelson Riddle arrangement, which augmented the string section and substituted the up-tempo middle section with a more slowly swaying beat - as recorded by Sinatra for Reprise in December 1979 ("Trilogy" album). This arrangement Sinatra kept performing continuously down to the 1982 "Concert For The Americas" (Warner Video/DVD), and again from 1985 onwards. The last documented time he performed it was in March 1991 in Brisbane/Australia during the "Diamond Jubilee" tour.
Thanks Jason and Charlie for your comments.
Bernhard.
