"This Was My Love" is one of my favorites too. Sid Mark wore the needle out on that tune in the late 60's and 70's. That and "My Love" from Young At Heart. I have a vivd memory of having a college baseball game against LaSalle. We were given the option of taking the team bus or driving our own cars as it was a Sunday. I opted to drive so that I could listen to Sid as the music on the team bus was either The Bee Gees or Queen.
I show up at LaSalle and Sid decides to play those tunes back to back. I can't get out of the car. I'm blasting them through all 12 speakers of my LTD convertible. The coach was screaming at me to get on the field for infield and batting practice. I couldn't do it. I had to listen. When I finally did make it onto the field, I learned I would be sitting the first game due to my ignoring the coach. But it was worth it. I did hit a pinch hit single in the first game and had a very good game in the second as we took two from the Explorers.
