FALL 1944: Along with Bing Crosby, Bob Hope and Harpo Marx, Dad did his bit for the war effort by promoting the purchase of war bonds in a U.S. Treasury short subject,
The All-Star Bond Rally. He sang "Saturday Night (Is the Loneliest Night of the Week)" with the Harry James Band.
LATE SEPTEMBER 1943: He continued his public appearances in support of the war effort, performing almost every night in one rally or another around New York.
