Trilogy

It was quite an event when this album came out, since we hadn't had a new Sinatra recording in more than five years. I knew it was coming; my wife bought one of the first copies in our area and had it for me after I had come home from surgery....quite a wonderful homecoming.
The reviewers for the most part praised the first part (the past) and gave lukewarm approval to the present. They weren't too kind to the future section; some dismissed it with a comment about Sinatra tries space travel and the rest is too goofy to comment on. Gordon Jenkins was apparently hurt by all the criticism; according to some reports, Frank tried to ease the pain by making sure Jenkins was the arranger for his next project (and he wrote the background music for Frank's last film, The First Deadly Sin.)
