The announcer has a great speaking voice and conveys his ideas very articulately. And, to much of his audience, his message is actually very creative and very stimulating.

I guess what frustrates me is I fear that this impressionistic web world placates the masses and lets the dirty coyotes guarding the henhouse in Washington D.C. off too easily. In bitter impatience and haste, I want to believe everyone realizes as much. But the announcer is painstakingly aware of how numbed and clueless the masses are, obviously bearing that same frustration and addressing it a step further.

What a beautiful voice she has, and I agree with Mel, I can hear Nancys voice in the music as well. I know you're very proud of her.

Melissa thanks very much,I knew about AJ myspace site but when I saw it a couple months ago I did not remember the songs, ever since I heard AJ singing with the Rockets I always thought that she was very talented singer and the Legacy of our beloved royal family continue and I think that female electric bassist are still rare to find,Please forgive me to say just this that me personally I don't listen a lot of indie/electronic or what in fashion music so for me it a new kind of style that she does but I am sure that she is one of the best ones in it!It will be great to be available the whole EP and I would love to hear her eventually may be later on sometime in the future performing great American song books,Irving Berlin,Geshwin,Cole Porter...maybe I am just dreaming but it would be great even in 10 or 20 years from now and for sure a family recording, duets, trios would be great with Nancy,Frankiebig symphony orch or Bigband!(Nancy I know that she sang back vocals and was one of the main producer of your last CD and she appearde with you on the final episode of The Sopranos unfortunatelly I don't have HBO)If you sign up to myspace and after you could see pictures and there is some beautiful pictures there of AJ one of my favorite when she play's the piano and there some funny ones as well, let's not forget that the whole beloved Sinatra family have great sense of humor she is such an elegant, sexy, classy Lady just like Nancy,Tina and Nancy Sr it run in the family(by the way could I ask how old is Nancy Sr right now?God Bless her in health for many many more years to come!!!)I am looking foreword for all projects of AJ as well

AJ will be appearing with a host of other performers honoring Lee Hazlewood at Joe's Pub in NYC. She told me she wants to do Some Velvet but so does everybody else so she doesn't know who will get it. Her second choice is Sand. I think it's the first week in September but I will get the exact date.

Nancy, the date is September 9th. Here is a link to the promo website:

Sounds like a marvelous night -- wish I could be there, but I don't think I could work it out travel-wise.

and she's a film maker too

now i'm officially awestruck

found this from aj's myspace

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mxgd4z_yn2o

off the topic of her music...but wow

thematically very dark and deep...alienation, angst...

top shelf on the technical side too

this one will have me pondering for quite awhile

AJ is a graduate of the USC film school wth a major in screenwriting. She wrote that screenplay, cast it, produced it, chose the cinematographer, the lighting director, the cast etc, all of whom were absolutely wonderful - and she directed it too! THEN she edited it a few times to tighten it up and did all the computer work.

She fillmed this movie at my house so I was able to watch her pull it all together, and I must admit, I was mightily impressed with her professionalism. Her project has been screened at festivals and on stage where she has presented the live soundtrack as well. The songs you have enjoyed are that soundtrack.

Add to this her other music and you have a multitalented young woman who will go as far as she wants to go.

Do I sound proud?

Thanks for the link, Brian.

I just watched it and thought it was an excellent film! I really like the characters, the atmosphere and lighting. Also, AJ did a great job on the editing.

After hearing her music and watching this film, I know why your so proud, Nancy.

Brian and Allen really touched on the major points with their comments; I also enjoyed this very different and well crafted piece; AJ is a multi-talented woman who is certainly making her mark in the world!

Wow! I never made the connection between AJ and Looker! I've heard of them often, being in an indie band myself. Just looking at their myspace it looks like that when in London they play at many of the venues we do! I'll definitely try to make the 17th November gig.
