It's baaaack!

I became addicted to this show last year, and now I'm eagerly awaiting the season premiere on Tuesday.

Does American Idol have an age restriction?

I find the 'X-Factor' format much better, gives people of all ages, and groups, the chance to shine.

Of course there is an age limit, Adam. That is why I am not touring right now. It is very discriminatory.

Prince Charles is coming to Philadelphia on the 27th to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the opening of the Art Museum (Rocky's exercise regimen) Perhaps he'll need a dinner. Apparently he'll take in a Rod Stewart concert that night...WHY?

I seem to remember when taylor Hicks auditioned, there was some question of his real age because of his salt and pepper colored hair.

I don't think they would question the Rickster's age if he auditioned for Idol. He looks younger than that Taylor Hicks fella.

HAHAHAHAH Greg were you offended when Ryan said It's the Minnesota curse??

The people were mostly awful tonight, awfully funny too! I felt sorry for the vocal teacher guy Randy was especially mean! but I really liked that little 16 year old girl who sang the Jennifer Hudson song the best tonight.

Simon and Randy were so funny as usual.

One girl who will always stand out in my mind is the one who thought she was the lion from the wizard of oz! poor girl what was she thinking? Simon could have at least have taken her poster!

Some Luck!

I started this thread, proclaiming my excitement for the return of "Idol" and then I get called to work at the last minute, and miss the show (forgetting to set TiVo before I left the house). What can I say? The ER was a zoo tonight.

Of course not. I thought the show was great. I give those people credit for giving it a shot. Too bad some got so offended when they were turned down but I did make great drama.

It was a joke Greg. I was quoting Ryan Seacrest

I give them credit too it takes tremendous guts and they are following their dreams.

Simon's and Randy's expressions and jokes are what makes the show very funny

I agree... Simon and Randy are hilarious even with just their facial expressions...
It is not as humorous as it once seemed to me to tune in and also see how drunk (or whatever Paula is) with each episode. Last night I thought WOW~ She cant even hold her head up. And if you looked closely sometimes, it was as if her eyes would roll behind her head.

Feel sorry for her.

I enjoyed the young 16 year old girl that came from horrible circumstances from the day she was conceived. I liked her enthusiasm, her motivation and I really liked her voice as well.

You gotta wonder about the family and friends that encourage them

Anyway..love watching the auditions.

It seemed to me that Simon and Randy had switched roles as good cop, bad cop. Simon was pretty subdued, and even encouraging to some of the kids, and Randy was laughing at just about every one of them. Paula said nothing but yay or nay. What's up with that? I'm looking forward to the real competition, though.
