calling all St. Louis folk......

My whole family is coming down this weekend (to Springfield) for my house warming party.(I am going to try to put up pictures of my house this week) My dad wants me to make pork steaks. mmmmm.....pork steaks. Anyway - got distracted by the yummy thought. I would be intersted in some of your recipies for this wonderful St. Louis dish. Billy is putting in our washer pits tomorrow. It will be like a little St. Louis right here in Springfield. My sister is bringing down some Rigazzi's. I am so excited. Wish me luck. I think there will be close to 60 people in my house on Sunday.

Some Rigazzi's what? Ravioli? Angel hair? Been to Ragazzi's several times and my curiosity is killing me what your sis might be bringing?

I know, TOASTED ravioli, right? That's a St. Louis fav. I, however, prefer them boiled.

Also, Lindsey, better explain the "washer pits". . . .somehow don't think some of our east and west coast friends know exactly what they are!

Sixty folks? Yikes! I had a hundred for Jilly's wedding reception and they were spread all over half the farm. You live in a subdivision or a spanse of land?

Have a wonderful time! But can't wait to see what she's bringing!!!

She will bring ravioli (boiled and toasted). Washers are similar to horse shoes, except you use washers instead. This explains it
http://www.washers.org/rules/ My family are some washer playing fools. They will play for hours. I am not a big player, but it is fun.

My new house isn't too big (about 1700 sq feet), but we have a big yard, and a nice sized back porch. I think the number is down to about 50 now. Probably 25 people could hang out comfortably inside my house. I am not worried about it. We will figure it out.

Where I live isn't a subdivision or a spanse of land. It is just a neighborhood. I guess it could be considered a subdivision. they neighborhood was built in the fifties. We all have nice sized yards, and the houses aren't too close together. It is nice to have the space.

Well my house warming was a success! We had about 50 people. We went through so much food it is crazy. We went through close to $200 dollars worth of groceries, plus all the food that everyone brought; we killed a half barrel keg, drank 6 1/2 fifths of alchohol, and close to 200 jello shots. It was crazy. the last people that left didn't leave until 5 in the morning (via cab) and about 10 people crashed on my living room floor, in guest rooms, and one fell aslepe on my porch. I am exhausted today, but it was too much fun. As soon as I get my pictures loaded on to the computer I will post some.
