Susan, I think you could find some good hikes here. My brother and I used to hike around Palm Canyon and he would look for tarantulas. Cute kid.

Too overweight and out of shape for hiking these days but I definitely could sit on the veranda and enjoy the view. I saw a tarantula walking across the road, I think I was in Arizona at the time. I could see his hairy back from my car.

Sitting at the House of Blues, waiting to "Crash the Barricade". The DJ played a song that sounded familiar and I finally figured out it was a cover of "Big Boss Man". For the next song he said that it's the lady in the boots and he played "Ain't No Easy Way".

I am South of Buffalo, NY and we have had one great summer so far. Temperatures in the 80's and some in the 90's but sun most of the days.

Our pool got open early and the grandchildren have been in almost every day.

I woke up early to get over to the Chiropractors office for an adjustment, then I had acupuncture (same place) then I met my mom for an early lunch, we walked around and did some window shopping. I picked up a couple of birthday gifts for a friend of mine, and now I'm home watching baseball and checking my eBay bids.

Not a bad day. Would like to get over to the pool tomorrow. High temp of 102 is expected.

Just another day at the office.

2 dead in Spanish Fork Canyon (traffic accident), 1 dead at Deer Creek Reservoir (jet ski crash), 1 hiker dehydrated 4 miles up the trail, 1 hiker heart problems 2 miles up the trail, 1 bike crash 2 miles up the mountain trail, 2 other bike crashes, one woman fell off her bike, slid down an embankment, grabbed a branch before going into the river and held on until rescue crews could get a rope on her and haul her up. One 5 year old nearly drowned, 14 year old crashed her 4 wheeler, a couple of seizures, a few falls, baby choking, three brush fires, a bunch of traffic accidents (three in the same spot), one of our cities reported homes flooded and other things of which I've forgotten. I worked fire/ems channel today, don't know what happened on the law enforcement channels, too busy on mine to listen to the others.

The most interesting thing happened yesterday. One of our dispatchers ordered a purse last weekend at Fiesta Days and was supposed to have it delivered yesterday to dispatch. Imagine her surprise when she came to work and discovered the woman from whom she bought the purse had been booked into jail the previous night on a murder charge. I think she can kiss her $75 goodbye.

Sitting in bed watching "Non But The Brave." Had not be on for a few weeks so I decided try my "I Pad" out for something other than work. I like it better than I thought would.

Question who is the women in this movie? I looked on several web sites and she is not listed in the cast. Just thought I would slide this in here and see who is paying attention.

Just finished watching "Never So Few" on TCM. Later today, dinner at our daughter's home. I'll probably be warned, "Pop-pop, don't wind the children up too much before dinner. Then they'll want to play, instead of eat."

I recently started placing a napkin on my head, and fake-sneezing it off. The grandchildren, 2 & 4 years old, laugh uncontrollably. Nana says, "she can't take me anywhere!"

I will try to spend most of the day resting from last night's class reunion, which went off without a hitch. I gave two t-shirts to old friends, had my picture taken, both with my class and solo, and spent quite a few minutes on the dance floor.

At one point during the reunion, when I was off the dance floor, one of my classmates, Mike Overton, came up to me and apologized for any bad treatment he might have given me during our time in high school. I accepted his apology.

Later tonight, I will call my brother Tommy and see how he's doing. Should be an eventful day and night.
