Well Leanne I guess it will have that "ironic" appeal.

As I said, I liked the quirky-ness of the older Whos... from what I have seen. But I can see the new series is trying to go all street and glossy. And I agree, I think that's missing the point.

Have you see the new series by Paul Whitehouse? I think it's called Help. He plays all different characters visiting a phyciatrist, it was quite funny.

One of my favourite BBC Three shows is Arrested Development... it's brilliant.

Black & White Summer Holiday TV on the BBC....

Like a streak of lightning flashing cross the sky
Like the swiftest arrow
Whizzin from a bow

Like a mighty cannonball he seems to fly
You'll hear about him everywhere you go
The time will come when everyone will know the name of Champion the wonder horse

Alison

Seems a bit daft Christopher Ecclestone taking the job in the first place then if he didn't want to be typecast?

I know the guy you mean Alison, I can't remember his name either though - he must have made a big impression on us then

Phil stuck Ian's head down the toilet. Then Ian had to try to look composed while he talked to Plod.

I thought this week's Doctor Who was amazing. I was emotionally drained at the end of it. The time loop thing was mind-blowing. I wanted to watch the background thing on Three, but I had to go out. Couldn't record it because the hard disk is full. Roll on digital HD/DVD.

I think David Tennant will make a great Doctor Who. (He's really just called The Doctor, not Doctor Who). He's kinda sexy, and has a weird way about him.

The final episode of Doctor Who was AMAZING !!! Those Daleks are well-scary. The Doctor tries to understand them, but he should really splat them at every opportunity. I mean, they are so mean, (and I mean that ).

The Doctor would shout at the Daleks, and they would jump back ever-so slightly, which showed they just might have the capacity to care about their own individual survival, which Daleks don't normally do. I think the Doctor was cool when he could shout at them from behind a force-field and make them jump like that.

I thought the visuals were really good and the dialogue was tough to keep up with. Trying to understand which way we were going in time, and how 2005 London events can affect things that happen in 200,000 years is hard to keep up with. The world continents were a slightly different shape in 200,000 years time, which is what we might expect.

Anyway, I had a bit of a cry.

Can't wait until the Christmas specials.

Erm... oh hi, can you unblock the drains while you're here.

With the tough-guy Mitchell brothers coming back to EastEnders shortly, (and the original Sam Mitchell is supposed to be replacing Kim Medcalf, BTW), then wouldn't it be cool if they came back as Daleks?

"'Ere mate, did you touch my pint?"

"Leave it out mate, no I neva"

"Well, just make sure you don't, else I'll have to exterminate ya".

I think I just blew my chances of ever producing EastEnders.

I just haven't had time to watch Cutting It this series. I still have two episodes of Hustle to watch. and that finished weeks ago.

Check out Murphy's Law. This is hard-hitting drama and just ever-so-slightly weird, which is what I like. I love this.

Murphy's Law

It's brilliant - but I love all of Colin Bateman's books - have you read any Leanne? If not and you like contemporary fiction, I think you will like them. They can be funny and at times. quite violent and definitely ever so slightly weird. They are a great read.

No, I haven't read those books. But I really am a television freak, as you probably know. I think television (and radio) is as capable of stirring our thoughts and emotions as any book.

I think James Nesbitt delivers his lines in an eccentric style, and I love it.

Jim Nesbitt, funny as Adam Williams in Cold Feet or as DS Tommy Murphy, one class act, Bloody Sunday his finest hour.

Elephant Diaries

This wonderful series of five programmes to be shown every evening this week at 7, was filmed at The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust over the period of one year. It follows the lives and fate of the baby elephants that are orphaned for various reasons, I know it's going to make for some hard viewing at times but it will be worth it. These elephants are just so wonderful, they are wise, intelligent and playful and so very beautiful. This is reality TV at its best

For more information about the programme and The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust , click here

I am sure you won't be sorry

I have fostered this baby elephant - Kora

No-one watching this?

How sad this has come to an end - I hope there is another series so that we can catch up with the little ellies.

The highlight of this evening's programme was the football match (soccer) with the baby elephants and their keepers, it was fantastic, the little elephants were fantastic, it was so funny. The keepers are amazing, they really love their little charges (well, not so little in some cases) and spend 24 hours a day with them, it's so moving how these little elephants bond with their keepers. The keepers put them to bed at night and sleep in the stable with them, one little elephant has been so traumatised in seeing her parents killed that she snuggles up with her keeper for warmth and comfort.

It was heartening to see so much human compassion after such a horrible day yesterday, it does help to restore one's faith in humanity. I know there are so many causes and problems in the world that many may think may be more worthwhile, but it's so wonderful to see this wonderful lady and her helpers in Africa making such a difference to these wonderful creatures.

The downside to this evening's programme, was the death of the littlest elephant Jipe that we all took to our hearts over the past couple of evenings. He was such a little sweetheart, so playful and full of character, but sadly he became ill and died very quickly. Baby elephants are very vunerable up until the age of 2 and illness can strike swiftly and with dire consequences.
