From both was used a song as a soundtrack in a famous mob movie.
FS: Scarface (Strangers in the night) BC: Godfather (Have yourself a merry little Christmas)

Matt -- I may have had a bit too much of "Gentleman Jack" the other night, and my head is now starting to clear...
...I think that it's Al Martino who's singing "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" in "Godfather." Definitely not Bing. But the way things are going lately, I could certainly be wrong on both counts! Take care & be well!

I've checked it on IMDB. It is really Bing Crosby singing that song. Al Martino (as Johnny Fontaine) sang I have but one heart in The Godfather part 1.

Matt, far be it from me to question the folks at IMDB, but they are 100% wrong about Bing singing "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" on "The Godfather" soundtrack! There's a web site called "DIAL M FOR MOVIES," and when Hugh Martin passed, there was this note from an interview with the man who composed "HYAMLC"
"As a side note: "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" appeared in The Godfather - the song, playing on the radio in the background, sung by Al Martino (Johnny Fontaine)" And I'd add this somewhat "logical" note, Matt -- With "Johnny Fontaine," a very popular singer, having an integral role in the early part of the film, it would make perfect sense to have "Johnny's" version of "HYAMLC"--rather than a version by Crosby, Sinatra, Haymes, Clark, Laine, Como, or another popular singer from that era. Take care & be well!

Stanley, I was wrong and you were right! I just watched that particular part from the Godfather and it is definitely not Bing Crosby. It is Al Martino singin' that song as you said!
Maybe I (and also IMDB) was confused because Al Pacino and Diane Keaton went to the movie The bells of St. Mary's (starring Bing Crosby) and you can see him on a Billboard for a second. Anyway thanks for your comments, really appreciate it!

Both Stars made Christmas TV specials in the early and middle 1950's. Some of these were Duets, singing together.
