Frank Sinatra In Las Vegas

I just spent my 18th bday in Las Vegas it was awesum there. I heard Frank Music wherever I went. I saw they have just recently named a street after him named Frank Sinatra Drive. I was also told dec.12th is frank sinatra day there. The most beautiful thing I saw there was at the Bellagio when the song Luck Be A Lady started playing and there was a water fountain show and every movemenet of the water fiitted Frank's music and voice perfectly. with the water and the lights it was just beautiful. I caught a rat pack show tribute which I heard they had to get permission from Joey bishop to do and it was hilarious. The guy playing joey was just like joey. the guy playing sammy was very similar to Sam and the guy playing Dean looked nothing like Dean but sure sounded like him. The guy playing Frank looked quite like Frank in some angles and had many of his mannerisms but didnt speak anything liek Frank he sand quite like him well though overall it was a great shwo I recommend it to you. This has nothing to do with Sinatra but gop see Cirque du Soleil its an incredible show.
ciao
Melissa
p.s I can't help but wonder how cool it would have been to have seen the original rat pack live. anyone here seen em live?!

Hi Melissa,
I was in Vegas three years ago, I saw the fountain-show at the Bellagio too. I was so thrilled because I wasn't prepared and
didn't know of it. Suddenly "Luck be a Lady" started playing when
I crossed the street infront of the Bellagio and Franks voice was
everywhere on the strip. I couldn't believe it and I thought to myself: This is still Frank Sinatra's town.
I didn't see the Rat pack show but I don't think that any imitation
can recreate the magic of the originals. But we have the CD's and
hopefully one day a whole show will be available on video or DVD.
I think instead of opening all those resort hotels they should open up a Sinatra or a Sinatra/Martin/Davis hotel and rebuild the Copa room showing concerts of Frank, Dean and Sammy on a big screen.
Of course the proprietors would have to be Nancy, Frank jr., and Tina.
Ciao,
Sandro

PS.
Let's invent a time machine and you will find me at the Copa every night. I'm the one in the front row with the Jack Daniels in hand.

I agree Sandro.......

I know it was wonderful hearing Frank sing "Luck be a lady" with the beautiful water show, I wasn't expecting Frank to come on either! haha I wish they would open up a Sinatra hotel. I haven't been to the museum in hoboken yet I heard its good. But a Rat Pack hotel in Las Vegas would be incredible.Everyone would go to it.I'd go every year! At the rat pack tribute show I went too there were original bobby-soxers in attendance. Which tribute show did you see?
ciao

Re: Las Vegas

I've been to Las Vegas many times, this year in April, going again in Oct. The water show at Bellaggio never fails to move me with Sinatra singing "Luck Be A Lady" Walking thru the casino you hear FS, Ella, Louis Armstrong etc. Although Steve Wynn no longer owns it he set the standard for class. Years ago he also had Sinatra appearing at the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City. Those TV commericials publicizing his appearances there with Sinatra telling Steve Wynn "more towels please" are classics. Any one remember them?

PS I don't stay at the Bellaggio, too rich for me.
