(I find it so hard to use this forum's search engine. Am I the only one? I can't seem to find anything I want... doesn't take boolean expressions, considers many words as too common, etc.)

I don't have time to study your list now, but it appears to duplicate mine except for a couple of "promo" and/or non-commercial releases. I believe my A/B side designations to be accurate. Also, note that the last five records on the list used descending numerical order for their catalog nos.

As for the search engine, searching for "Reprise singles" in titles would have found it quite easily.

After a quick look, I've found the answer to a couple of my questions. However, regardless of the famous no-no release, I have found two singles that do not seem to be in your list:
- 20,157 (or 20,257?): California / America The Beautiful
- 0713: It Was A Very Good Year / Stay With Me (Main Theme From 'The Cardinal') [a reissue for the latter song]
Also the single 7-19355 that has "The Last Dance" on the B-side is not there, but did it exist at all?

There are promo issues of 20151 with COME BLOW YOUR HORN as the "B" side. Supposedly at least 1 stock/commercial copy exists as well.

I have no idea why I Remember Tommy had issue on "regular" 7" singles. There were stereo 7" 33 1/3 singles of other albums, but they were intended for stereo jukeboxes, and in this early Reprise era those were in the 40XXX series (not 20XXX).

My GOLDMINE guide has 20026 listed as THERE ARE SUCH THINGS/POLKADOTS AND MOONBEAMS, and 20028 as TAKE ME/DAYBREAK. I do not have these records to confirm.

The same guide notes 20107 originally released as THE LOOK OF LOVE/I LEFT MY HEART IN SAN FRANCISCO, and later issued with INDISCREET replacing SAN FRANCISCO. I have a promo copy with SAN FRANCISCO.

I imagine 20157 is correct instead of 20257, IF the sequence of the recordings matches up with sequence of release. My guide notes it as 20157. FUGUE FOR TINHORNS is 20217, recorded after these...

Yes, it was a later-day issue (as Martin explained), with "Fly Me To The Moon" on the A side. I really wouldn't count this, as it was released years later.

The CD-ROM database lists Reprise R20053 as a US release. No mention of Great Britain, and the sides are reversed: A = "Without A Song" / B = "I'll Be Seeing You". The 1962 date would make sense for a UK-only release though, if it was issued about the time of Great Songs From Great Britain. It's not listed in two other sources for US-only issues.

This is just an educated guess: In 1961, Sinatra was recording for both Capitol and Reprise. Capitol issued several singles from his last three LPs, as required contractually by his termination deal with the label, I believe. The singles from his last Reprise album of the year may have been simply competitive. Despite the flood of FS singles on the market that year, none of these charted.

Again, this is not meant to be exhaustive.

Steph: I was about to post a comprehensive set of corrections to your original list which was attached as an image above. Since you've removed that, I won't bore everyone with the details.

Here are a few more notes:

Early singles with a 5-digit number (starting with "2") had an "R" prefix (i.e. "R2"). E.g., the first Reprise single was R20001.

Singles shown with just an "S" prefix in your list should be "RPS".

Singles with a "7-" prefix were issued in reverse numerical order.

Several issues were marked as "P" (promotional) which were in fact released commercially. Many singles may have had both normal retail and white-label/promo-marked releases, sometimes with different sleeves. Also, there were many (radio promo?) issues containing the same song on both sides (e.g. mono and stereo) which duplicated the number of a corresponding commerical release.

My Kind Of Town / That's Life was 0702 in the "Back To Back Hits" series.

"/" missing before "Tina" on 0151 (and the alternate with "Come Blow Your Horn" was strictly a non-commercial white-label radio station promo).

0157: Year should be 1963/1966, as mentioned above, on this non-commercial promo.

0493: Only 300 copies were pressed for FS to give to friends. (It is VERY strange!)

Another tidbit (besides the overdubbed guitar on the two sides of 0677, mentioned by Martin, which has never appeared on CD):

On "Good Thing Going" (B side of 49827), there were two different mixes issued of the same take: The first single issue was mastered too slow; the second was mastered correctly as appears on the album, She Shot Me Down.

"/" missing on 19355. Year on that was 1991.
