There's around 40 tracks missing, which isn't bad out of a 60 year career, I can see why random live tracks, like the FS duet weren't included, the studio ones being excised is less acceptable, but even the Frank "Complete Reprise" suitcase wasn't complete, I think from an archivists point of view covering so many years and so much material its virtually impossible to get it right 100%.

Thanks Stanley, the picture doesn't really do my collection justice, I don't have everything but thanks to the wonderful advice I get here on this forum I know I am doing justice to " The Voice". Not many of my friends here in the UK can " hear" Frank and don't fully understand my appreciation and love of the man, I like to have my collection on display,I believe Frank " finds" us at our time of need, and I am truly grateful.

Then perhaps you should have posted in the thread for Frank's Duets album, Chris. This would be a more appropriate place to discuss the Tony Bennett box set (and the forum is every bit as good ):

[ As she says, "they will need TWELVE pall bearers at your funeral!"]
Why? Is she planning on burying that Sinatra stuff with you?

Hmm interesting thought, one way to ensure it doesn't end up on ebay I suppose. I may build a pyramid for it.

Best of the Best

My deluxe box arrived today all the way from America but what's the secret on opening the box - I hate damaging a potential collectable but it took ages to get in to find the cardboard sleeves inside - some good photos though and at last that 57 concert.

Just finished moving into our new house (downsized). Started to unpack my office and started opening up all of my Sinatra records, cds, books, tapes, programs, pictures, etc. I felt like a kid on Christmas morning. The memories that flowed were unbelievable. Programs brought back special nights with my wife in Vegas and across the country. The signed items brought back beautiful memories of meeting and talking with Frank. The table card from New Year's Day at Bally's in Vegas brought back a night where Frank gave my wife a kiss, and his orange pocket silk. He sung to her all night. Even though it was over 20 years ago it still seemed like yesterday.

My wife wondered why I had tears in my eyes, and then she came into my office, looked around at all the memories of Frank and she started to cry also. Proceeded to put on the Jobim sessions (on LP), cracked open a bottle of wine, drank a toast to Frank and just cuddled and enjoyed the music. Thank God that we have the music to get us through the good times and the bad.

PS: Just got my Best of the Best CD and my middle son took it home with him before I could even crack it open. He said since the CD is from Francis Albert and his name is Francis Albert, he should be the first to listen to it!
