I just want to add that I only have what appear to be old authorized kinds of things. I have a small collection of studio movie stills that were used for publicity and a few AP-wire photo's and ads. I have several pressbooks and concert brochures from concerts I attended in 1974, 78 and from the late 80's/early 90's.
And a hodge-podge of little things I've found in antique stores.

(after I started posting the other day, I realized I should probably make a list of everything in case I ever have a fire!)

Sinatra goodies....

I think i have all the Sinatra approved CD's, DVD's, LP's ,lots of Sinatra on VSH some taken from T.V., Books, Magazines, Post Cards, Lobby Cards, Photos, Sheet Music and then some........
Just picked up a vintage magazine last week called "Radio Mirror" from 1943 with an interesting article on Sinatra also a picture of Frank, wife Nancy and daughter Nancy Sandra.
A little of this and a little of that in music and movies and my collection maybe will be complete but i'm hoping that new material on Sinatra will be found, developed and released to us....

Sinatra Collection?

Hi
I have loads of stuff in total
Too much to list.
But the memories of the London, Royal Albert Hall concerts...
In particular the 1980 concert, are etched in
my soul.
35 years ago Frank got to me like no other human being on the planet.
He STILL does have that affect.

Frank Sinatra Sings The Select***

I picked up two used CDs, which I had not seen before. How many Frank Sinatra Sings The Select..... are in this collection? I bought the only CDs I saw, which were Cahn and Rodgers & Hart.

I wondered if they were legit, but the liner notes for the Cahn CD were written by Will. That settled that thought

Sings the Select Cole Porter (1991)
Sings the Select Rodgers & Hart (1995)
Sings the Select Johnny Mercer (1995)
Sings the Select Sammy Cahn (1996)

All are Capitol compilations (and legit).
The Select Cole Porter and Select Rodgers & Hart are significant for containing Frank's solo vocals from the High Society, Can-Can, and Pal Joey soundtrack albums. (Those were issued on CD in 1989, but are much harder to find.)

I have...

...all the CD's Rick lists early in this thread plus a couple hundred LP's including boxed sets, imports, various collections, anthologies and oddball items that include one or more Sinatra tracks.

Since I have everything on CD that has been commercially released from Harry James through Duets II, the LP's just sit there. With a few exceptions, they're all for sale if anyone wants to complet a collection or frame a cover.

Sinatra Recordings

I have 61 cd's, mostly all the Capital years and the Reprise recordings. I'm only now beginning to work on the James/Dorsey/Solo 40's period recordings. I also enjoy reading about Sinatra and have over 60 books about him. Has anyone added the Hollywood box set to their collection and have those soundtracks been digitally re-mastered?

THe Hollywood box set is great. There's something for everyone: great accompanying book with loads of info, the popular songs from the movies, and some tidbits for completists (like Louis Armstrong and our boy scatting and a jam with Oscar Peterson).
If you have the chance, you won't be disappointed in investing in that box set.

I don't actually own that many. I'm finding them hard to get hold of. I seem to have the compilation re-releases. I would do anything to get my hands on some original recordings

And also, if you have any, how many LPs do you own?

It would be cool if we could see how everyone stores thier collection, so feel free to add a picture...

That's impressive, Dez. You've seen a lot of technology come and go!

Do you still play the LPs? Or have you avoided CDs altogether....
