The Same Hello, The Same Goodbye

Wow - I just listened to NPR and discovered a new song that was written by the W O N D E R F U L Marilyn and Alan Bergman specifically for Frank Sinatra at his request. Though he never recoreded it.

Here's a link to the song:The Same Hello, The Same Goodbye

And here's a link to the radio programme:Marilyn And Alan Bergman On 'Song Travels'

Just imagine what a grand recording that could have been. Would be wonderful to hear Frank Jr sing it.

I agree, Duncan, it's a beautiful song. On their edition of Playing Favorites on Siriusly Sinatra, the Bergmans talked about performing the song for Frank at his home. They said it moved him to tears and, said he was amazed how perfectly they captured a period in his life. I only wish he had recorded it. Barbra Streisand's version is my favorite and, Michael Feinstein also did it beautifully but, a version by Frank would have undoubtedly been the definitive one.
