There are a few I wish Dad had got around to but I think Smile would be my number one choice.

Tony Bennett does a great rendition of Smile, but I also would love to have heard FS sing this sadly beautiful Chaplin song.

I really like Matt Monro's version of singin' in the rain. I wish that Frank would have recorded as well.

Here's half an album's worth:
1. I'm Old Fashioned
2. Young & Foolish
3. Lush Life
4. Spring Can Really Hang You Up The Most
5. Hers (His) Is The Only Music That Makes Me Dance
6. Darn That Dream

A few more that may have already been mentioned that I think he would've done a fantastic job with:
No Love, No Nothin'
Always on My Mind
How Long Has This Been Going On
Cry Me a River

2 of those he did - No Love No Nothin' Ive heard, can't recall where from, may be a grey label radio recording rather than official. Cry Me a River he rehearsed a few times but isn't out anywhere officially.

Here's the other half of my "wish-list" FS album:

Then I'll Be Tired Of You
Old Friend
Get Out Of Town
I Was Doing All Right
Not While I'm Around
The Best Thing For You

It's an official release: A Voice in Time (Disc 2). From Lucky Strike Your Hit Parade in 1944.

"No Love, No Nothin'" (in the form of a one-minute excerpt) is also included on A Voice In Time - One Hour Radio Special promo CD (Sony/BMG 2007), at 19:00-20:00 as "Break 1 with music bed."

It's a Billy May arrangement, intended for an FS album in 1988. It was never used. The only documented performances by Frank were rehearsals, one of which was captured on a hand-held tape recorder and released on an unofficial CD (as you mentioned above) with very poor sound.

The promo CD is not something the average consumer is ever likely to encounter, but the program may still be heard online at prx.org. (Click on "break 1" for the brief "No Love, No Nothin'" excerpt.) See also this thread:

"No Love..." One of the prettiest in the Harry Warren canon. Frank's version is wonderful, the only one by a male singer that I've heard over the years. Some of the ladies I've heard, either via radio or records, are Jo Stafford, Margaret Whiting, Betty Grable, Lee Wiley, Chris Connor, and June Christy. It's a great song!

I once heard Sid Mark say that Frank was going to record "Sunrise, Sunset" from Fiddler on the Roof for his "September of My Years" album. I can only imagine how absolutely beautiful his interpretation of that song would have been.

That's always been a top choice for me too. I can image it being on Sinatra & Strings or Trilogy: The Past.

I really like the radio tracks and they're valuable because they contain so many songs that Frank never recorded in the studio.

Duke Ellington

I wish there had been more Ellington standards. He sang, on a Sammy Davis Jr. tv special in 1966....Take the A train ...excellent he would have killed Duke Ellington.

I know this one has been mentioned some years before, but since hearing Bing's recording of it, I really wish that Frank had done "Yesterday When I Was Young." I remember hearing this song by country singer Roy Clark, but my heart can hear Frank's voice singing,"I ran so fast that time and youth at last ran out..."
