Excellent news and its good to see several that didnt have a EOTC release being reissued, its been many years for some of them.
Strangers in the Night is a strange choice as Concord are doing their deluxe reissue, unless thats the same thing?

I assume it will be the same, Nick. (Just as My Way 40th Anniversary Edition was issued by UMG in October.)

Great to see more CDs being released. Hope She Shot Me Down will be in the next group.

January '10 UMG releases with catalog nos. & Amazon links

In the style of my earlier post, UMG releases with catalog nos. & Amazon links (October), following are links to the Amazon product pages for the January 2010 Universal Music Group releases.

The main title links are to the US Amazon.com website, where these are listed as "[IMPORT]" products, preceded by links to the German [DE] and British [UK] sites:
  1. 06025 2720003 3 [DE] [UK] [JP] Sinatra And Swingin' Brass
  2. 06025 2720783 4 [DE] [UK] [JP] Sinatra Sings Great Songs From Great Britain
  3. 06025 2720009 5 [DE] [UK] [JP] Strangers In The Night [US]
  4. 06025 2720010 1 [DE] [UK] [JP] That's Life
  5. 06025 2719994 8 [DE] [UK] [JP] Cycles
[Added:] Link to equivalent release on the Concord Records label at the American [US] Amazon.com site. [See also Frank's Recordings thread: Strangers In The Night (Concord Deluxe Edition) - Amazon links]

[Added:] Links to the (translated) pages on the Japanese [JP] Amazon.co.jp site, for the Universal Japan SHM versions of these CDs. [See also above: Universal Music Japan Releases]

I suppose this needs a new thread "January releases via UMG".

Good to think there will be announcements like this every few months until the catalogue is all out there again.

The five January releases will also be available in Japan as limited edition SHM-CDs in LP-style sleeves. I've added the Amazon Japan links to my post just above. Release date in Japan is February 24, 2010 (March 2, for the imports at Amazon.com in the US).

It gets quite confusing navigating the Amazon product listings. At Amazon websites, there are now three new listings for Strangers In The Night: the US Concord Records deluxe reissue, the UK/Europe Universal International version, and the Universal Japan SHM pressing. All are UMG releases of the same title, with different catalog numbers. See here in the Frank's Recordings thread for the Concord release: Amazon links.

I've consolidated discographical details for all these CD issues in the following post:
UMG Compact Disc Release Dates
As future UMG releases are announced in this thread, I'll keep the table in that post updated for reference.

Thanks for the info Bob, I had a look at the European release on Amazon UK and the back cover is now up. The front photo is very green, I think it might actually look this way on this release as the back cover seems to use the green tinge for its artwork.

I am waiting to see if the Concord release is the same or if it has a better coloured photo and cardboard sleeve like My Way, I am a bit picky as you have probably gathered by now about things like that.

On a different note I have been wondering what will get the next deluxe release, I guess all the titles re released at the moment won't be released again so I wonder if any of the following may turn up as deluxe versions..

Sinatra And Strings

A Man And His Music, this would be nice if the original rear cover was kept intact or released like the blue box edition, that would be deluxe indeed!

September Of My Years
Ol Blue Eyes Is Back

I suppose we could list all the ones that have been re released as possibles, still, contemplating can be fun.

It is obvious from the publicity photo that the Concord release of Strangers In The Night will come in a cardboard outer sleeve. That strip at the top with the Concord logo and catalog number (above the STEREO banner) is from the top edge of the sleeve.

CORRECTION: There is no cardboard sleeve. The Concord edition comes in a standard jewel case. The image, including the portion at the top right, is the cover of the CD booklet.

Bob, all I can see is an X for the publicity photo link, so I didn't know, but I am glad you have confirmed it.

There's something wrong with your JavaScript or your browser's security settings, David.

Bob, when I just used the link, I get the below:

Very odd, Martin. When I use the link that I posted:
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k3...ngersCover.jpg
I see this 800x800 pixel image that is hosted by photobucket. (I can only reproduce it here at 500x500 pixels, due to the SFF size limit for attached images.)

Name: FrankSinatraStrangersCover.jpg
Views: 225
Size: 34.8 KB

(Note: The link does not work as you quoted it, because it contains an extra trailing punctuation mark. That results in "This image or video has been moved or deleted." But when I remove the extra double-quote at the end, the correct image is displayed.)

On second thought, this looks to me to be a browser message. I.e., it does not come from the target website. I'm using the latest version of Firefox right now, and the image displays fine. It seems that image triggers a bug in other browsers. (I just tried an older version of Internet Explorer, and it fails.)

Out of curiosity, can everyone see the external images displayed above in THIS thread, in post #57 thru post #60 ?

Yep can see them all, and your link worked fine.
I use Google Chrome if that makes any difference.
