The Opening Page
This opening page is the best one of the others, with my favorite song "Younger than Springtime" and with the beautiful lady Mrs. Sinatra in it.
Congratulations and happy birthday, Mrs. Sinatra I LOVE YOU.

Hi Paul,
As mentioned in the lead post of this thread, you have only two compact disc choices for finding the version of "Younger Than Springtime" heard at the intro page: The Complete Reprise Studio Recordings (track 5 on disc 12 of 20) Movin' With Nancy (track 4) You can also hear an alternate take of this song (and watch it being recorded) on the DVD, Movin' With Nancy. |

Happy Birthday Mom! Happy Spring Everyone!
What an absolutely beautiful opening page! Kudos to the "artist" responsible for that delightful presentation which -- thanks to that great song (by my favorite "Concert Sinatra" composer) moved me to tears. Of joy.
I was delighted to see two of my musical heroes, Quincy Jones and Steve Tyrell (Steve's is the second-to-last photo to 'emerge'). Both men obviously wanted their picture taken next to Nancy's oh-so-lovely, smiling face. Happy spring, indeed! Mark Blackburn p.s. I finally watched that "commercial" instead of cutting it short -- with man's best friend enjoying The Good Life. Isn't that just the most joyful commercial you've seen in years! |

Younger than Springtime
Many thanks to Nancy for allowing us to hear that entire wonderful song as the current opening to commemorate her dear Mother's Birthday.
I have listened to this opening song several times right through and I never get tired of hearing it. It warms my heart to hear it. Frank sings this so beautifully and the tone, meter and flow of this recording is simply THE BEST. Frank was so good in 1967 and in such great shape all round. Its also great to be able to see that fantastic show, "Movin With Nancy" which also features this recording session and young and lovely Nancy comnes in and sits to watch Frank make the recording. I would have given anything to have been there also.

Jeffrey you put it perfectly!

"It's also great to be able to see that fantastic show, "Movin' With Nancy" which also features this recording session and young and lovely Nancy comes in and sits to watch Frank make the recording. I would have given anything to have been there also." Beautifully said, Jeffrey! Listened to it again this evening (that opening page work of art) and . . . hoping Spring will arrive soon, here in Winterpeg (where it snowed all day today) and this song, with its perfect presentation warmed my heart. |

Thanks Mark. In truth, whatever the weather, hearing Frank sing this on this recording will warm you winter, spring, summer or fall.

The Complete Reprise Studio Recordings gave me the chance to discover many rare gems in Sinatra's crown, and this one is one of them. It's an incredibly beautiful love song, and tailor made for Frank. Just glorious.
