Sorry Greg

I forgot the Minnesota connection. But it is a limited role after all and has some vague references to Hubert Humphrey during the flashback scenes.

I dont know about the cast you've picked for this movie.

I think we can do better.

I had nothing to do with the casting. I had suggested George Wendt for the New Yorker but he was unavailable.

Clooney for the Philly guy was just too good a match.

Lohan....well, perhaps that could be improved upon. Have you a suggestion?

You have a great sense of humor.

BTW, can I be a gaffer on the set? I don't know what a gaffer does but I bet I can gaff as good as anybody.

Thank YOU, Greg. I am very impressed with your tastes in humor.

And as for Sarbo's comments, well, he's just jealous of your good taste. Don't pay him any mind.

As for a role on set. As you know, I am not involved in the production but I'm sure there's a best boy or key grip job you can apply for.

I'm told the love scenes are a closed set. That's at the request of Ms. Lohan.

Also, I hear they are very close to signing Michele Pfeifer as the lovely wife of the Philadelphian, reprising the Pfeifer/Clooney magic from several years ago.

You needn't worry about me, Sarbo, it's Rick you should be worried about: Clooney plays Rick, Michelle Pfieffer plays Mrs. Rick. That's when life imitates art .

Greg, I need to remind you, All characters in this story are fictional. Any similarities to anyone living or deceased are purely coincidental.

I never said the Philadelphian was me. Where did you come up with that? That would be sooo narcissistic.

"Clooney plays Rick"

Clooney should be worried.

But he has had to put on weight before to play certain roles.

Clooney admitted the role would stretch him. The character is very complex with passions in all facets of the life of the character. He said he thought it would be the challenge of his career.

Apparently, he's hired a vocal coach, a business executive and a golf pro to help him nail the character.

"It's the role of a lifetime", said Clooney to Variety this morning. "It's not often the part of a true Renaissance Man comes along."

And we quite agree with him.

I for one think Clooney can pull it off. Luckily, he was born with good looks so he won't need any make-up to look the part.

"He's hired a vocal coach"

Obviously he hasn't done enough research on the character.

Actually, I think it's to help him with the Philadelphia dialect in speaking. Clooney will lipsync the vocal tracks. After all, the songs cannot be improved upon. This is not a Kevin Spacey treatment. Clooney hopes to do as good a job as Larry Parks in "The Jolson Story".

Actually

George is a year younger than the man from Philadelphia so you are almost correct.

It was nice to watch a Sinatra movie I haven't seen before..

I bought a copy of the VHS of Assault on a queen from amazon and watched it last night. It was not my favourite Sinatra film but I thought his chemistry with Virna Lisi was great. The acting by Sinatra was very good. I think Virna Lisi has to be one of Frank's most beautiful co-stars.

No Melissa it definitely was not one of his best but I love these "impossible feat" type movies. This one puts me in mind of another one from the early 80's called Raise the Titanic. It's a great story although back then nobody had even yet found the liner... much less knew it was split.
It's pure speculation and fantasy...like Assault, but lots of fun!

Does Tina Sinatra and company own the

rights for a re make on this film.
In an up-dated 2007 version of this film I see a possible hit.
Does anybody know whats what with this film ?
