Mark this is a fun film and Virna Lisi is so gorgeous. She has great chemistry with Frank.

I saw the movie yesterday. An average movie but it is nice to see FS in a swim suit.

On which places were the movie filmed?

I agree, George! Things are always better when FS is involved. And I've only seen this movie once, so I may watch it again soon.

What a nice surprise - it was on Polish TV today. Yes, the movie is avarange but Frank's acting supreme. Actually I watched him for the first time not in comedy part.

I wonder if it was him really under the water??

Anyway - enjoyed watching Frank

I have to start watch ALL THESE MOVIES which seems to be overwhelming task...

Slowly, slowly...

I always enjoyed ASSAULT ON A QUEEN and perhaps now that we know that pirates are even these days capturing and going after all kinds of shipping, it is not so far-fetched a plot as I had once thought. Imagine what would happen if the pirates got their hands on a submarine which could easily torpedo any Coast Guard or other vessels employed to protect legitimate shipping!

It was great in this movie to see Frank Sinatra in a sort of 'Lloyd Bridges' type role in his scuba equipment and overall he comes out as the good guy at the end, which is in reality what his character always was.

Assault On A Queen

I'm hoping to hear that Paramount will finally issue this movie in letterbox on DVD...

This movie was on UK TCM2 today.

I noticed that most of the water shots were made in a studio tank and the sky was a painting. Frank was good, as always.

A great action/adventure film

I like this movie and FS was great in it! I haven't seen it turn up on television in quite some time...I'm still waiting for a widescreen DVD.

Virna Lisi

I thought Ms. Lisi was a "knockout." She appeared with Jack Lemmon in "How To Murder Your Wife," and then, with Frank in "Queen." And that was that! She was too gorgeous to have such a short career in the U.S.

"Queen" is lotsa fun. Frank is having a grand time. And seeing Richard Conte is always a treat!

Upcoming Screening

Look for this flick on TCM on Jan. 24, 2011 at 6pm EST. Always great to see Frank in action with Nick Conte. The effects might be a bit dated, but Virna Lisi looks great the whole time!

Richard Conte

One of the great favorites of my youth, along with Stewart Granger, Lex Barker, and Dick Powell.

Nick was the most intense of actors -- you had to pay attention whenever he was onscreen. At the end of "Ocean's 11, " when he said, "Never the luck, never the luck!" I saw my whole youthful movie-going flash before my eyes! A wonderful, wonderful actor!
