A few months ago I finally got the opportunity to see this movie... it was shown on one of the HD channels. It's not one of his best movies but certainly better than Assault On A Queen.

I saw it twice, don't feel like seeing it again... I think "Assault on the Queen" is a little bit better, just a little ...

Warner Achive DVD Release

Warner Archive has announced this for DVD release:

http://www.wbshop.com/Dirty-Dingus-M...gid=ARCHIVENEW

It will be in anamorphic widescreen but apparently without any bonus features like most Warner Archive titles. It may have a trailer, but that would be it. Still, another Snatra release on DVD is cause for celebration, right?

Absolutely! I think this is the only FS movie I have never seen, other than a couple of his cameo appearances. I look forward to checking it off my list.

This is my least favorite Sinatra movie. When I watched it, I couldn't believe it was really Frank!

It's kind of funny that he never bad mouthed this one but always mentioned The Kissing Bandit as the nadir of his movie career! I think "TKB" is charming with some nice songs. And, he looked so cute with his long, wavy hair!

I agree Dina, the soundtrack of the Kissing Bandit is excellent and far more memorable than the film. Dirty Dingus Magee is simply a bad film. He looks like he knows it as well.

Yep. The only extra feature is the trailer. Here is the Amazon link:

The most amazing thing about it is that 3 reviewers gave it 5 stars. I'd hate to see the rest of their top-rated film collection!

I guess I'm the only one here who loves this movie. I love it for the sheer joy my dad experienced while filming it. He had so much fun being silly.

I actually haven't purchased the DVD yet. I keep hoping the price will come down a bit...

Dina: If you monitor Amazon.com, you may be able to catch a lower price. When I ordered this DVD a few weeks ago, the price was $18.99, which was less than the $19.95 price tag at WBshop.com (and I get free shipping with Amazon Prime). However, today I notice the Amazon price has increased to $26.99. You have to keep checking Amazon, to take advantage of any short-lived price drop.

A fun movie!

I love this movie! It's always a kick to watch...FS is quite funny in it!I'm glad that it's finally available on DVD...It makes a great double feature along with another comedy-Western like McLintock and some Three Stooges Western short subjects!

IMO, the best way to get a good price is to order directly from Warner Archive at the WB Shop and sign up to be notified of sales. I have ordered 20 or more Archive titles since Warner launched the program. I usually order during one of their sales. Frequently, they'll do "5 for $50" deals, or "3 for $45" deals (last 3-fer was this month as a back-to-school special).Sometimes, they just give 15% off everything or select titles. They often feature free shipping during sales (but they do charge sales tax).
