I love the theme to this movie. Don't know who wrote it, but it is very 60s and very catchy.

DVD

I just got the DVD this past Christmas. Loved it! Music, Frank's cool style & all. Look for a young Lainie Kazan (mother on My Big Fat Greek Wedding) dancing on a platform at Jilly's Club.

Lady Cement

Sinatra was soo smooth in this one...it was like you were hanging out with him for a few days....love the 'groovy' stage settings and the fab cars too.

Lady in Cement 1968

I have the movie on DVD, which a dear friend gave to me. However I have never watched the movie, I've seen bits and pieces but not the whole movie.

I just will have to sit down tonight, and watch it.

I just realized that I wrote the same thing once before on this same thread

Anyway I´m happy to say that I bought Lady In Cement just few days ago. Its funny (especially Tony Rome`s one liners) and the action scenes were pretty cool to watch too.

Dan Blocker`s character reminded me of Moose Malloy from Raymond Chandler`s Farewell My Lovely novel . Btw is Dan Blocker Bonanza`s Hoss Cartwright

Wasnt Lady In Cement consider as a hit film on it`s time or why there weren`t more Tony Rome films after it

Lady in Cement - 1968

I finally got to sit down and watch this movie, all the way thru, It was so good and such great funny lines. I truly enjoyed it. So glad I have it on DVD. I agree think he did some of his own ad-libbing. the line about the bullfighters cracked me up

He's so sexy and gorgeous.

I just got the whole Tony Rome series on Dvd, and watched Tony Rome and The Lady In Cement yesterday. I have to say I was surprised how brilliant they were; exciting and funny. Some great lines from Frank!
I say this because they rarely mention these films, it's always The Manchurian Candidate or From Here To Eternity etc.. which are great films, but I liked these two just as much!

A tall tale?

Hope im posting this in the right place!
My dad used to work on the ship The Queen Elizabeth. (I know i mention my dad a lot but im here on his behalf as well as my own)
Two of his ship mate's came over to him,he was just about to buy a drink and they said we'll get that for you, considering what has happened you must be feeling upset. My dad had no idea what they were talking about and asked, whats happened? They said its your mate,Frank Sinatra,he's missing presumed drowned whilst filming a movie!
Obviously they were wrong but to this day my dad doesn't know whether they were completely winding him up or whether there was any truth to it. Apparently it was reported on the radio and my dad's pretty sure(!) it was whilst filming Lady in cement but says he could've got the film wrong!
Anyone else know anything about this or were his friends winding him up good and proper!?

Well, there was an incident during the filming of None But The Brave. Here's from Nancy's Book:

Quote:
MAY 10, 1964: During the location shooting for None but the Brave, Ruth Koch, wife of producer Howard Koch, went for a swim near the town of Lihue on the island of Kauai, and Dad watched from the beach because he had been warned about the treacherous undertow. A wave instantly swept Ruth about 75 yards out to sea. As Dad tried to swim to her, a second wave brought her back to shore and its undertow carried him 200 yards out. Although Frank is a strong swimmer, he couldn't fight his way back in. He struggled against the surf for 35 minutes. Jilly Rizzo raced to find a boat but there was none. A neighbor, Alfred Giles, plunged into the waves with his surfboard. County Supervisor Louis Gonsalves and Harold Jim swam out to Dad, and along with Giles on the surfboard, they struggled in the ocean until fire lieutenant George Keawe plunged into the surf, tossed a rope to the rescuers and managed to pull them to the beach. "In another five minutes he would have been gone," said Keawe. "His face was turning blue." When they pulled my father back to shore, he was put on a stretcher and carried to the house. "He is exhausted," an attending physician said, "but otherwise, his condition is satisfactory." When I got to the house, Dad was in his bed. He looked very pale. We went right to the basics. I said, "How are you doing?" He said, "I'm hungry." I said, "How about some peppers and eggs?" He said, "OK." We had pepper-and-egg sandwiches and watched TV together until he fell asleep. I wanted to ask him many questions, but I didn't. I wanted to tell him how much I loved him, but I didn't have to. After this ordeal, my father bought rescue equipment and a boat for the community.
