One of the best Vegas Movies

I personnaly love the movie over the new version because there is more brotherhood between the actors and in the new one it's kind of like well how did he know this guy and such kind of making it unbelieveable that all the guys could work together, wheras the old version the guys all worked together and the movie was outstanding...!

Awhh shucks Danny... Cut the gunsmoke dialogue...

When is your wife coming on ...? she's on now... and the music is the tender trap ..what a great piece to put while your wife is dancing on the stage... then he punches the customer who gets all rowdy....

EEEH O ELEVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

movie

it is one of my favorites of all time, actually it has become a cult classic, from what i have read , between shooting scenes and playing the sands, they got only about 3 or 4 hours of sleep a night for over a month

Oceans Eleven

I was watching Oceans Eleven yesterday, on a earlier posting someone on the forum (can't remember who) stated that while Dean was singing "Ain't That A Kick In The Head" their were 3 woman seated at the bar in front of him.
Someone on the forum said if you look closely one of the women was Shirley Mclaine, well I looked closely and I have to disagree but if any of the 3 was Shirley, I'll eat my computer. Anybody agree or disagree. Yes she was in the movie but the drunk girl in the parking lot with Dean, not sitting at the bar.

Charlie, your computer & your digestive system are safe, she isn't in Dean's little audience but is the parking lot drunk.

Love it, love it, love it!

Ya know, the remake wasn't so bad either... but it could never compare to Frank, Dino, Sammy, -n- the rest in the original!
One of my all time favorites..!

Just watched the DVD twice yesterday...once with the commentary and once without...gonna go watch it again and then maybe The Rat Pack afterwards... (if you look behind Liotta in the office scenes, you'll see a vintage Heathkit Integrated Amp and Stereo Tuner, I've got that set and they work beautifully!).

Also been listening to the Sept. 1963 Sands recordings in the car lately.

Quality NEVER goes out of style!

Keep on Rockin,

Ken

Ain't it the truth. I've always said, if it was quality in 1950 or 1850, its still quality today. And always will be..

I was watching this again last night. There is a hilarious scene that I never noticed before. When Ceasar Romero comes to the hotel room to confront Frank and Dean, he comes through the door and the size difference between these men is amazing.

FS was 5' 7", Dean was about 5 10, and Romero has to be 6' 3". For about 10 seconds Frank and dean are staring up at him like he's the center for the Lakers. Then the director immediately has Romero sit down, and then Dean sits down and Frank walks around. But Romero is so massive he still dominates the scene, even sitting down..

Height in the movies is very important. Thats why so many leading men are short, it looks more natural and is easier to photograph a man and woman together when they are eye to eye for the love scenes.

Ocean's Eleven -1960

I was in Vegas, and saw the Rat pack on stage a complete fluke but a memory I'll never forget. Even got to watch them film alittle of the movie, before I had to leave.

It was a high point in my life as I was only 19, (Be still my Heart)

The new Oceans 11 with Geo Clooney, was pure crap, and now I understand they are making Oceans 12. God it never ends. I've yet to meet one person who likes it.
Franks Oceans 11, may have been camp, but at least it was fun, and showed Vegas, when it was jumping. I won't ever go back, its now a kiddyland for family's Its been ruined.

totally agree char. making oceans twelve is a disgrace and Sinatra would have been none to happy... anyway, oceans 11 was based on the song "eeee-o-11" by Sammy, so what will they do now, write a song called "eeee-o-12" or something??? pure hollywood money spinner. thats the problem with movies these days, always willing to sacrifice class for big $$$$$$$$.
