Lol I was on the edge of my seat, because I knew it couldn`t end there. And then it did! The first time I saw it I was sitting there open- mouthed, because movies just dont end like that!

The remake(s) pale in comparison.

Though, the remakes have made people want to see the original, thus gaining it some attention. Which is good, helps to keep the flame alive.

I have seen Ocean's 11 many times and when the remake came out I knew it wasn't going to be very good. After seeing the newer version I thought it was okay but I was correct with my first opinion.

Yes, the ending is one of my favorite endings ever.

I loved the original I thought it was great.
As for the remake and its two sequels well, I thought they were okay just a movie if you know what I mean. They are there in name only and I think they get away with being two different flicks. But really just a movie for mine.

Why didn't Frank sing a song?

I'm a gret fan of Ocean's eleven, I just love it! But I have always had a question: Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr sang in the movie but why didn't Frank sing?

I don't like very much the remake and I think Ocean's 12 and 13 are useless. Let's hope they don't make Ocean's 14,15 etc!!

Almost time to get the DVD out and watch it again - New Year's and all, good excuse! I haven't bothered with the remakes. The original has Frank, Sammy, Dean, et al. You just can't replace those guys, why try, IMHO. Always great fun to watch. Also, the DVD has Frank Jr.'s excellent commentary (with contributions from Angie Dickinson ), one of the few movie commentaries that I've listened to more than once, he obviously enjoyed doing it. All in all, it's good fun!

I like the remakes too, but I don't consider them in the same category as the origional. It would be better if they were named different and had different names for the characters! But I just remwmbered, did anyone catch the running joke in Oceans 13? It appears as if they considered someone who "Shook hands with Sinatra" an person who has a good reputation. Still, all of the remakes are extremely hard to keep up with. In other words, dont get up for popcorn!

For obvious reasons we all love the original.. BUT the cast aside. The remakes story can't even compare to the original. That is the most amazing ending ever.

Very orginal ending, one of the best bits about it. It's not my favourite Rat Pack film, but I do like it! (I like just about anything involving Frank! )

I think this could have been a much better movie with some additional editing. It's a bit too long in spots, but still entertaining and, as history, it's a more interesting movie now than when it came out.
One thing that Sinatra movies always include: a host of familiar faces of actors and actresses you may not have seen for ages. Trying to identify them makes for a fun game. Of course by this time you have to be old to know most of them.
Something I just saw: the IMDb entry for Billy Wilder lists him as an uncredited contributor to the screenplay.

this was another one that i saw as a child on a movie of the week or something on television

about all i remembered from it was the last scene - and that probably only because i had to ask my mother what cremation was

odd that all these years later it's one of my favorites

as to the remakes - george clooney said (speaking of the original's cast) "nobody will ever be as cool as those guys"
