musical/comedy in1944

pretty good movie for that era, again sinatra's songs are the highlight of the film. these songs [4] were written by jule styne and sammy cahn, sinatra shares the singing of two songs with gloria de haven and anne jeffreys.
come out, come out, wherever you are, is a favorite of mine from the columbia era. it's a must if that's your favorite sinatra period.
thanks, joe.....

here's the show to make your head spin, for it's the grandest, gayest musical comedy that's EVER hit the screen

hows that for the soft sell?

I'm not a big Gloria de Haven fan but it was a cute film and lovely songs. Frank stole the show when he sang "Come out wherever you are"!.

Frank is such a pleasure to look at in this film

So charming. And those cheekbones and eyes, even in black and white. It moves fast.

This is my first time seeing the movie and so far I really like it. Frank sings some great songs in the film... I especially like Some Other Time and Come Out, Come Out Wherever You Are. These early films by Frank may not be his best but they sure are fun to watch.

Frank was really the swooner back then, in Higher and Higher and Step Lively. I don't think it ever happened again in any movies he played in.

I enjoyed this film, too. Watched it for the first time last night on TCM. I enjoyed the songs too, which Frank sang so well. Come Out Where Ever You Are was cute.

Finally got to see this film last night, Ed and I enjoyed it! A little campy, but very sweet....pretty music.

Frank is just too cute for his own good!

What fun to watch. Frank is so innocent in these early movies.
What really stands out to me is how natural an actor Frank was.

I had a mini- movie marathon yesterday and watched this movie for the first time.

Not only is , adorable, charming, and charismatic, but I think he had great comedic timing in this film and his other films of this eara. He certainly lights up the screen, and what a joy to be able to see him while listening to him sing. It's easy to see why the girls would faint! [We need a swooning/fainting emoticon!]

I got the "Sinatra The Early Years" DVD boxset the other week, havent had time to watch it, but have seen this movie before on TV, of course its dated but still has plenty of early Frank music and its always good to see him sing in person.
