More Memories

I first saw this movie on a local channel that showed films everyday starting at 3:30 -- just as I was getting home from school. I liked it then, love it now.

The "ON THE TOWN" crew! Loved the movie, but at times, especially in the museum, thought it was a bit draggy and long. But we are all so sophisticated now, arn't we, that sequences like this seen so mundane. JMHO, nat!

Ronnie, great gifts! You'll watch "Suddenly" and "MWGA" at least four times, each time seeing somthing you didn't see previously. I think I could only watch "On the Town" twice - that was enuf, but just MHO!

Happy Belated Birthday, BTW! May all your dreams come true!

My pleasure to post these wonderful pictures. I've been collecting since I joined, some three years ago or so. Tony and Rick have some wonderful ones and I kept filling up "My Pictures". . . .

Don't have 'em all, but quite a few. My fav, of course, is this one: Young At Heart!

This is one

Talented sexy man, now that I have gotten that out. I love this movie also. They don't make movies like that because the talednt is not here anymore. Thanks everyone for the pictures. Lux , if you like that picture of Frank you would love a gift I receive, a picture just like that to replace my plain old cover for my light switch. I love it!

On The Town

This will be my first post on here.

I do love Sinatra's body of work so much. Not only could he sing (I consider him the greatest vocalist in history) but he could act (He was an Oscar Winner for "From Here To Eternity" in the Best Suporting Actor Category and he was nominated for "The Man With The Golden Arm"), but although those are great films, a film I think of often when I think of Sinatra is On The Town.

His collaberations with Gene Kelly always paid off, especially in this film, their best collaberation. I esspecially love the part were he is in the Taxi Cab debating with the driver wether to go to her place or his place.

Jez, I'm just suprised he could dance (of course with the help of Kelly).

David,

Welcome and we're so delighted to have young folks so fond of Mr. S. Not only was "he" the greatest entertainer of the twentieth century, but I think, IMHO, one of the finest, most under-rated actors as well. He proved that in the Manchurian Candidate and Man With the Golden Arm.

Betty Garrett & Frank had quite a carrisma!

People tend to forget that he was an Oscar winner. They tend to think he was just a pretty boy on the screen.... Well, what do they know?

IN that big ballet they had towards the end of the picture (it was something like 10 minutes of non-stop dancing) that's not Frank Dancing though. Kelly and Donden hired another man to dance in Frank's Place.

This movie started it all for me

This movie is what made me fall in love with Frank Sinatra. I discovered him and his music that day in gr.12

"Chip" was a cute name for Frank in that film.

First time I ever saw his face was watching this film. I thought he was so beautiful and then he started to sing to Betty Garrett. He was so romantic. Then he started to sing "You're Awful" I was hooked right there and then. I knew it would be for life.

Do you ever notice how the crowds of people at Rockefeller Centre are gawking at Frank?

It's quite neat if you pick up on it at the scene there. I didn't notice it until the guy on TCM said the young girls were trying to get a glipmse at their fave singing idol.

One of my first and one of my favorite Frank films.Partialy due to the inclusion of the lovely Vera Ellen but mostly down to Franks youthfull zest(doesn't he look so young?) and the fast moving nature of the tale of the three lads with time to fill as best they can.

What a song You're Awfull is!What amazingly clever lyrics..and if you had to pick a number to show how marvellous the young Frank Sinatra was..this would be a decent choice!
