Frank Jr. at Mohegan Sun [merged]

I'm thinking about going to CT in February to see both Frank Jr and Nancy, but I am not familiar with the Mohegan Sun Casino. If anyone has been there and has some information to share, please reply.

Thanks Bret

I did visit the Mohegan Sun Casino website - it looks very impressive! Since the rates are pretty high (in the neighborhood of $200 per night), I was hoping to get some more objective opinions before I plan a visit there.

Mohegan

You can stay 15 - 30 minutes away for unfer $75. You could even try foxwoods for a room it is only 30 minutes away. The room is a 300 seat room.

Hi, Nancy!

Have been so thrilled following the stories of your new recording with Lee and Billy. Can't wait for this record!!

Happened to notice that your brother is in the same building this coming weekend. Any chance you'll spin us a tune or two together?? That surely would knock people out!! Will Lee be there?

Thanks,

Lonnie

Duet?

Sorry Lonnie

Frankie and I have no plan to sing together. He is in the main room
with the big orchestra and I will be in the lounge with my rock band.

Maybe some other time.

Thanks for asking.

Did anyone see Frank Jr. at the Mohegan Sun yesterday, Feb.22nd? Nancy was performing for free in another area of the Casino and I'm dying to know if she sang with Frank at his show. I was on vacation when the tickets went on sale and when I got back 7 shows were all sold out. I have already seen Frank in Vegas and it was a great show.

Yes. my wife and I were at Mohegan for Saturday night ( 22nd ) and it was great. Frank Jr. appeared in the Cabaret which is a very nice setting with mostly "rising" seating so everyone gets a clear view. The show was great, and Frank Jr. is a real pro. It's easy to forget how long he's been a performer- this man knows a stage. His voice was terrific and those perfect arrangements are still perfect. I can't wait to see him again and will e-mail that to Mohegan. His show was at 8pm and went 90 minutes+. We tried to get seats for Nancy who was in an area called wolf-den. They were gone but you could stand and see and hear her just fine. She was awesome too! I'm 48 and for guys my age she was always "hotstuff" ( I don't mean that in a bad way ) and she still is. She had a big screen above her and it was great to see Elvis up there from Speedway. Frank Jr. was in the crowd. No duets that I heard but I missed 5 minutes to call home. Still this was a great Sinatra weekend! I urge both to come back soon.

Frank Jr

Hello ShaneMcD
I caught the Jan.24,2003 show that Frank jr did in New Brunswick,N.J.
It was a great show a real trubute to His father
Bill Miller was His piano player for the tribute part of the show
It's a shame the won't allow pictures taken during the show
As He was going thru the years of songs ,the back drop showed pictures of his father thru the years.
A fabulous picture .
Was the show at Mohgen the same format
If it was ,It had to be Great.
The Sad part of the show is that we will never see the Man
again, and there was a few tears as we left that night.

Regards
Frank

Hi Old Man Music- Yes we had Bill Miller and it was great to see him again in action. The Mohegan backdrop did not show the photos. It did say Sinatra in big letters for awhile. The show was just awesome. A few people snapped pictures, at least in the first couple of songs. It appeared that a Mohegan employee went to those tables to ask they stop. Bad for me because I bought a brand new role of 800 film but didn't take any figuring the rules are the rules. Even on this site some clearer on stage pictures of Frank Jr. would be great to see. Hope Mohegan becomes a yearly stop!

Even though I've seen his shows many times, he always surprises me.

This program was presented sans strings because the stage was too
small for the entire orchestra. That means that some of the songs he
usually performs had to be left out but it also means that the charts
without a string section could be brought out of the archives again.

His set list for this show:

OVERTURE
DANCE BALLERINA, DANCE
MASQUERADE
PLEASE BE KIND
I WAS A FOOL
(BALLAD INSERT)
FRIEND LIKE ME
ONE FOR MY BABY
WORLD ON A STRING
DON'T WORRY 'BOUT ME
RIVER, STAY AWAY FROM MY DOOR
WHERE OR WHEN
(BALLAD INSERT)
LUCK, BE A LADY
MOVIE MEDLEY
(BALLAD INSERT)
NEW YORK, NEW YORK
PUT YOUR DREAMS AWAY

Bill Miller enters stage right while the stage lights are down and takes his
place at the piano for "One For My Baby". Frankie deliberately staged this
to resemble the way his dad performed it with Bill for 52 years.

in action.
