Frank Sinatra Jr Interviews

Looking around on Youtube recently I found some really interesting interviews with the man himself. I - quite often - get annoyed with interviewers when they have the chance to meet Mr Sinatra, they always ask him ill-informed questions about his father's career and not about his own work.

Oh how I wish I had a chance to interview him - it would be so interesting to know his views on music, songs, songwriters and the musicians he chooses to work with.

Anyway, these ones are very interesting - take a look:

Absolutely, I would love to hear Frankie talking more about his own music and his opinions on music today etc....I reckon you would do a better job than most Duncan.

Thanks for the faith Keith!

I'd be particularly interested to ask him what songbook album he might be interested in recording.

He has expressed his fondness for such contemporary writers as Rupert Holmes and Marilyn and Alan Bergman. One of my favourite recordings of his, which I have mentioned here many times, is The Way She Makes Me Feel by Michel Legrand and the Bergmans.

Imagine what Mr Sinatra could do with an entire album worth of Legrand melodies and Bergman lyrics. For my money, he is one of the few working interpreters of the Great American Songbook that does justice to such songs.

I'd also be interested to know his views on current orchestrators and arrangers - who he rates and who he thinks are the future talents.
