INSTALLING FRANK'S REPRISE JUKEBOX

THE GOAL: To load all 20 CDs onto your hard drive - or portable device - as sequentially numbered MP3 files in one folder.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: 1.29 GB (1.28 compressed) of disc space
CD Drive, Ripping Software (MusicMatch Basic, WMA, Roxio Adaptec , Nero etc)
MusicMatch Jukebox Basic is currently the best available freeware. Download from here:

(Remove useless players like REAL etc)

HOW TO:

1. PRINT or SAVE to text document the entire tracklist below for listening offline

2. Work OFFLINE and shut down unused applications.

3. Create NEW FILE FOLDER named FRANK'S REPRISE JUKEBOX. This is the root folder which will save the entire set as numbered files, as per tracklist. Keep this folder open while you rip, and put a copy of the tracklist in this folder.

4. CONFIGURE your ripping software to this folder for all 20 discs.
(Using MusicMatch:
SELECT: Copy CD to Files - opens Recorder, then
SELECT: Options / Track Directory/Browse for FRANK'S REPRISE JUKEBOX. Uncheck all boxes except Track Number, then Apply)

5. RIP one CD at a time, and RENAME each track with the appropriate 4-digit # from the tracklist below BEFORE RIPPING THE NEXT DISC. This is important: you don't want to end up with twenty untagged files named "Track 3" or worse: almost 500 tracks rearranged alphabetically.
(If you're ripping from a good CD drive with OK software, each disc will take 15mins to load at 5X speed: number your files as they load into FRANK'S REPRISE JUKEBOX folder to save time)

6. VOILA! You've installed FRANK'S REPRISE JUKEBOX! You can now:
* organize playlists for albums (link to album threads below for conversion codes)
* listen to individual tracks on your player
* burn CDR/RWs for home or car from your burner
* export tracks & playlists to any portable device

While this is one of the great releases, all of his Reprise recordings in chronlogical order, one of the truly great gems on this is All the Way Home, written by Teddy Randazzo and arranged by Joe Parnello from 1983.

The first time I heard this song, I just remained in my tracks. Now, wouldn't it be nice if Capitol could find some unrelased or alternates takes?

I personally own the second edition Reprise collection. I cant get enough of it . Its incredible.

The Reprise Collection was Sinatra at his best for those of us born in the 60s who remember him at that time.

This thread makes me drool. Because I know I'll never be able to find the Reprise box, much less afford it.

It's a real revelation to listen to the original Columbia Records version and juxtapose it with the Reprise version.

In the first one, you hear a young man on the cusp of something big--ready to show the world what he's got and daring somebody to prove him wrong.

In the latter version, there's the same confidence, but there's also a certain "been there/done that" swagger in the voice--perfectly complimented with that swinging arrangement that could have only been done by Quincy Jones.

There are many songs in the Reprise collection that I love--but "All (Or Nothing At All) really illustrates how far FS had traveled in his musical maturity.

Finally broke down and bought the set (note: if your think of buying it, go through E-Bay, only paid 183$ for it). Some thoughts:

I, like many of you I'm assuming, was in the category of "I already have a ton of these songs, would it be worth purchasing the set just for the ones I don't own". Personally I love it, the older ones that are out of print are great, I'm talking about the "Only Couple on the Floor" type songs. Well worth every cent.

Second, the quality of the CD's themselves are great, even work in the lousy CD players out there (those with old car CD players with coffee spilled over them will know what I mean).

Finally, its really a added bonus if you have the tracks from the Capital/Columbia years to compare with the ones in this set. The voice change is obvious, but the whole "I've been there, done that" mentality makes for some great comparisons.

You're a man/woman/transgendered person after my own heart!

You're now freed forever from chasing those pesky hard-to-find Reprise CDs.

Now you just gotta load up FRANK'S REPRISE JUKEBOX on your hard drive - think about it: in less than 2 minutes you could be listening to Sinatra '65 or the Complete Sinatra / Jobim without getting off your butt!

And there are bonus treasures on every disc of the set.

I own the Second Edition Reprise Collection. It's one of my favorites.

I was very fortunate in being able to obtain the 1st edition with the leather box. By the time I was ready to purchase it, all the stores were out of it. Luckily for me, The Wiz in Flushing, NY (now out of business) had it. This Reprise collection is probably one of the most important releases for Frank or for any artist. It's brought me so much music pleasure.
