Hi Nick, when you say "extra orchestrations", I may be mistaken but as I understand it from reading Frank Jr's written comments, this does not necessarily mean we will be hearing extra passages of music which were cut from the previous releases. Instead, Frank J seems to be saying that because the sound is now greatly improved, we will hear instruments playing Nelson Riddles's musical arrangements which were virtually inaudible previously. The original multiple microphone set up at the studio recording sessions picked up numerous parts of the orchestra which was recorded on several separate mag film sources at the time and now, with this new release, all of these recorded music sources have been utilised to some degree as much as possible so that all or at least more of the instruments in the orchestra can now be clearly heard in the remix.

I assume that the sound will be much cleaner too.

If this is not correct please let me know?

Sounds true Jeffrey, I may have read it another way but on reflection I think you're right, and the detail will be far better than before. A good start to Sinatra releases for 2012 eh? And definitely an album that needs playing loud.

Next Concord Title...

Anybody knows which CD would be the next Concord release AFTER the Concert Sinatra?

Thanks anyway.

What can I bring? I can bring my heart!

A moment ago I posted elsewhere my own appreciation for this classic, promoting the release date to an audience of budding American songwriters (and those who wish we could write "one good song" at least -- even if it's not on a par with my all-time favorite, "My Heart Stood Still." Hope the Family here enjoys!

Concert Sinatra

I just listened to the samples available on Amazon; Frank's voice is remarkably more "front and center", cleaner and clearer; I'm wondering if the full orchestral sound is somewhat diminished in the remix? If that is the case, I'd rather hear more FS anyway. I'm think I'm going for the MP3 download on Jan. 20th now that our dang Verizon internet problems seem to have abated.

Me too, Keith. I can't imagine I won't love it!

I just went to Amazon and listened to the samples and, I thought they sounded great! I agree with George, his voice is perhaps more "at the front" and it does sound more crisp and clean, even through my little computer speakers. I can't wait to blast it from my stereo!

What's your personal take? I know that it's among your favorite albums produced by your father (by the way, have I told you that you have the best taste in terms of his material?).

I pre-ordered this a month ago. I cannot wait to get this. "The Concert Sinatra," is among Sinatras best albums which automatically puts it among some of the greatest albums ever made: Dylan's Blood On The Tracks, Ellington's Far East Suite, Davis' Kind of Blue, etc.

I wasn't sure whether to get this release or not, but now reading this I'm intrigued.

Frankie's a great musician and heavily involved in this release so for my money its got to be worth getting, end of the day, even if the remix is to some but not everyones taste, its still Sinatra at his finest.
