Apparently Turner released it on his own Chas Records label (CTR 1001). The album was recorded in two sessions, on January 3 and February 23, 1983.

Rick, Thanks for all the hard work on these albums. You might add on the "Sleep Warm" album that the arrangements are by Pete King.

Hi all,

Does anyone know if there is a thread for this album already?
I did a search and could not find anything on it here.

I've been playing this album a lot recently. It's a great late night album.
I love the track "Something Wonderful".

Peggy Lee

She is such a wonderful singer. She will be deeply missed. I truly remember the CD with Francis leading her in this orchestration. :hugs:

Front Cover?

Hi Lea
How goes it?
I guess the guy is....Fran Sinatra!
Who else?.
By the way...I have Peggy Lee's phone number
and was going to ring her up one day for a chat.
Then I decided not to as she didn't know me.
Len Skeat lives near you at LENHAM...Lenham Court.
He is the greatest British Jazz Bass player in England.
Len & Iris are great friends of ours
In fact, we MIGHT be living with them one day...they have a
mansion. We have spoken about it.
Len built a fantastic house for himself at Biggin Hill, Kent.
( I worked on it for them)
I was up there one day when Peggy rang up from America.
Len toured with her...Worked with Tony Bennett...
Worked with Frank at a private party once in London...etc' etc' etc'
The old grapevine Mate!
Cheers
Barry.

Hi Barry

I'm doing fine.
Hope you are doing ok, I know you've been on a bit of a downer lately but things will get better.

Is that really Frank on the cover???
I thought it was at first, but I just don't know.

Was it Frank on the cover?

Hi Lea
I think it is.
It's the black hair and the shoulders.
Nancy will know...
Barry.

Hey Bob

Whatever happened to Charlie Turner. I remember his solo during "Laura" at Frank's concerts. Even with no microphone on his trumpet bell, he filled the Phalelphia Spectrum. Incredible lung power. I had heard he fell on some hard times. Do you know?

<< I had heard he fell on some hard times. Do you know? >>

I don't know his latest status, but Nancy posted a letter from Charlie Turner of a few years back:

Friend or Foe

(This is in a Members-only area and will not be viewable by unregistered visitors to the Forum.)

Perhaps someone else may know more?

Thanks for the reminder about that thread, Bob. I think it's time for a bump so our new members will see how important it is to fight the good fight.
