It's interesting to note that this LP's track list (left) is identical to the vinyl version of New York, New York: His Greatest Hits (right) and its related release, Les Plus Beaux Succés De Frank Sinatra.

Also, here is another variation with an identical track list to the albums listed above:

New York, New York: Seine Grössten Erfolge (Germany - Reprise 923 927-1), which has the "aus der funkwerbung" (as heard on the radio) banner in the top, left corner.

No one's as big an Italo-Phile as I am, but the person(s) who put together the vinyl compilation for LE PIU CANZONI DI FRANK SINATRA, and put "Mrs. Robinson" on the list, must have been, IMO, smoking some "funny looking cigarettes" at the time!

Stanley,
Maybe it's because the song mentions Jilly. That would seem to be as good a reason as any.....or maybe it was those cigarettes.

While I love all the songs on the album, are they the "most beautiful"? No, non a mio parere!

Ho! What's wrong with 'Mrs Robinson'? Is that track too loud for Italians? I think its a great track and it makes more sense than including Bad Bad Leroy Brown if you ask me - but then I like that track too.

I remember when I bought this album. I had moved recently from Rome to Pesaro, yet I had no friends but I had brought with me, of course, already provided my vinyl collection of FRANK. I spent most of my free time listening to the saddest songs of Frank. Then I said: "< ok Irene can not live like this, go for a walk the course of Pesaro is full of windows you may find something you like!">

As I walked like a zombie, something caught my attention: a vinyl cover blue with a written white SINATRA.
I walked in to the store and bought the album, saying: < " I want the record of FRANK! ">
The clerk told me: < " FRANK who? " >
<" SINATRA! " > I said.

I left the store, I was not a zombie!

Also why I always say that I did not choose to love Frank, he was choose me !

I often say that Irene, Frank chooses US the lucky ones, the ones that can really " hear" him .

Nice story Irene, your posts are always written in a wonderful poetic way, I can hear your accent when I read them.
