This 1966 album was one of many LP compilations issued by Capitol Records in the wake of Frank Sinatra's departure to his own Reprise label. The 1991 reissue was one of the few such compilations released intact on Compact Disc (with bonus tracks). All of the tracks had appeared on earlier albums. "I Love Paris" and the two High Society bonus tracks had also been Capitol 45 rpm singles, and, as such, they appear in The Complete Capitol Singles Collection.

Note: The mono version of "You're Sensational" on this album is the TRUE single version—edited down to 2:15 from the longer 3:50 album version. The Complete Capitol Singles box set has the longer version from the High Society soundtrack album. (This particular track was re-recorded at Capitol Studios in April 1956. It is NOT the stereo film version, which was recorded at MGM in January 1956 and can be found in the Frank Sinatra In Hollywood box set.)

An earlier Frank's Recordings thread (Sinatra Sings The Select...) mentions this album in relation to several similar songwriter collections issued on Capitol CDs in the 1990s.

Cool!

I was wondering when this album would show up!

Thanks, Bob.

An alternate cover was used for a later (Duophonic) LP issue. Currently, I have only a low-resolution black-and-white image to show of this:

My Cole Porter

Capitol also released a very similar compilation entitled Frank Sinatra: My Cole Porter on LP.

MY COLE PORTER 1967

This LP was issued on Capitol's subsidiary Pickwick label, about 1967. There were many such "budget" albums released in the late 1960s.

Good collection, nice to have some bonus tracks from the movie soundtracks.

One of the first FS albums I ever purchased (second to Strangers in the Night). Recently compiled it on iTunes - a great selection of songs, and performances of course!

A similar Cole Porter collection was the very first FS album I bought. I got My Cole Porter and This Love of Mine in this double album set at a now-defunct discount department store. It was a great introduction to the Capitol years and was the start of a 35 year (and counting) love affair for me!
