You still got it, Fred. Give it back, huh?

Ron Santo elected today. They finally got this one right. Too bad it's a few years late.

Isn't that the saddest thing? He was, along with Brooks Robinson, the greatest 3rd baseman of his era and they couldn't see fit to get him in before he died. The same is true of Gil Hodges. What a shame.

Oy, when Jose Reyes gets into the Hall of Fame, it won't be with a Mets cap.

If Reyes is a Hall of Famer, baseball is in very bad shape.

Not a Hall of Fame hitter though.

.292 with little power. He can score runs and he can steal bases although his numbers are way down. He makes way too many errors and let's not forget his 2 cent head. He doesn't walk enough and strikes out twice as often as he walks.

The Hall really needs to work on honoring people before they pass away.... Yes, still bitter about Buck O'Neill

I feel terrible that Gil didn't get in today! I had purchased a bottle of Asti Spumonti yesterday in anticipation of today's voting!

As I said in my e-mail to sports columnists after the Santo (wonderful!) announcement, "I'm curious about the seven voters who didn't vote for Gil -- how many of them played on seven pennant winners, two WS winners, eight All-Star teams, and MANAGED a WS winner, aside from also having impressive home run & rbi totals?"

I am happy to see that Ron Santo finally got into the HOF; however, I am still rather dismayed that neither Minnie Minoso or Buck O'Neil are not in at all.

Still, I will live with number 10 for the Cubs finally getting into the Hall. I suppose that somewhere in the other dimension, Ron is pleased.
