The Phillies have given up 6 unearned runs so far on 7 walks and 4 errors and are getting smeared in the rain in NY. They are now the worst fielding team in the majors. They are usually the best. What a nightmare.

right past the centerfield wall is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. It's like "double heaven" for a baseball fan...not that I'm a fan anymore. I've gotta get out to Shea this season before it's gone. I went to a bunch of games in Shea's inaugural season in 1964. I still can't believe that Shea is considered a 'relic" now. It was just so brand spanking new not very long ago.

The opening day ceremony was absolutely the most wonderful ever! The old guard was there and walked onto the field, took their old positions and received standing ovations.

Duke Snider walked onto the field but couldn't stay standing so they brought him a chair. I love this picture. He was my childhood hero.
