“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, It's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, And that enables you to laugh at life's realities.” ~Dr. Seuss

Christmas tree baubles only become valuable when they are veterans, fetched down every year from the attic, a little more worse for wear each year but worth their weight in Memories.

Christmas is forever,
not for just one day,
for loving, sharing, giving,
are not to put away
like bells and lights and tinsel,
in some box upon a shelf.
The good you do for others
is good you do yourself...

Norman Wesley Brooks
"Let Every Day Be Christmas," 1976

one that came back to mind in the last few days after considering recent policy initiatives of the UK government and I wanted to reply to someone using it but couldn't remember the exact wording, when I realised whoops it's 2012 and one can goggle these things up on the interweb.

Can equally be applied to some of the arguments being set forward in the GOP race stateside too I suppose.

Of all the preposterous assumptions of humanity over humanity, nothing exceeds most of the criticisms made on the habits of the poor by the well housed, well warmed, and well fed. Herman Melville

I love to re-read the essays from the landmark Hofstra Sinatra Conference -- reasoned thoughtfulness; passionate explication; beautiful writing. Truly, a great opportunity to re-live some of the best days of my life!

Here's a neat quote from Joseph Fioravanti: "Time is like the fading mantle of snow that covers Charles Foster Kane's last visible link to his cherished past."
