I have, along with most of the world, loved Hava Nagila for its beauty and its liveliness. I did always wonder about the history since it had such universal appeal. Now I know more. Thanks for posting and helping me better understand the roots of Hava Nagila. You're a mensch (think I am using that right)!

I found that very interesting, Rhoda. Had no idea of the background of Hava Nagila other than it was a Jewish song. So I thoroughly enjoyed learning of its origin and how it became such a popular piece of music. Thanks - I never would have seen this otherwise.
