Right now...what CD is in your home or car CD player?

Good morning from OHIO-USA:

Since we are moving and all the electronics are unplugged, I put a player in one of the empty rooms upstairs and to help me get going I have the music of CLINT EASTWOOD's movies (THE GOOD THE BAD, etc) and KELLY CLARKSON's first CD....I could listen to 'em all day!!!!!!

Dear Friend Chetter.

Dear Friend Chetter.

That's really a nice coincidence, my Friend. I'm glad that you also like Ravel's String Quartet in F major.

A Big Hug and Best Wishes from Your Friend,

Er, Gerald,

Perhaps I didn't make myself understood. What I was listening to was actually "You Can't Roller Skate in a Buffalo Herd" in B-flat minor, arranged for fiddle, GIT-tar, spoons, and four-part kazoos.

Right now...what CD is in your home or car CD player?

Good windy, cloudy, muggy morning from OHIO-USA:

After we get moved, I'll be digging out, if I can find it, ERROLL GARNER(sp?) and his CONCERT BY THE SEA, at Monterey Bay, California...Circa 1954...and lots of CHET BAKER.....

LEE thanks for mentioning (sp?) FRANK SINATRA's wonderful delivery of THANKS FOR THE MEMORY....not only is the singing spectacular, the delivery by a mature man, is haunting.....and that album, SHE SHOT ME DOWN....it owns me.....

Thanks, DOUG OF GREENVILLE, OHIO-USA.... soon to be DOUG OF TROY, OHIO-USA !!!

Ooops! I almost forgot, I have a wonderful LP called PORTS OF PARADISE, that I found while packing.....it's definitely going to be filling the house with those exotic sounds....Anybody here remember it....it was done by KEN DARBY, etc.....?????

Today I'm listening to "Bachelor Pad Royale", from the Ultra-Lounge series.

"Midnight music for cool cats!

Steamy vintage music for the ultimate bachelor pad experience.

Cool, crazy, wild, swingin', jazzy, sexy - the perfect musical nightcap for private dicks and dames.

Moody!"

I've been listening to Phyllis Hyman and wondering what demons would make such a talented person end their life. Her voice is chilling and she sang such beautiful songs.

I'm currently listening to a GREAT new version (okay, it was released in 2001) of Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture" performed by Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, along with the Kiev Symphony Chorus and the Children's Choir of Greater Cincinnati (Telarc CD- 80541).

This is the first time I've heard the "1812" performed with a chorus and a choir and let me tell you, IT IS AWESOME!! I highly recommend this version to anyone who is as big a fan of the "1812" as I am, as well as to anyone who is interested in hearing a new interpretation of an old standby!!

It is a "Direct Stream Digital" recording, that uses real cannons for the grand finale, so watch that playback volume or you're liable to blow a speaker or two!!

Check it out!!

I'm happy

I finally found "Tony Sings for Two" on CD by Tony Bennett. It has been tough to get a copy of this.
