Black eyed peas

Black eyed peas are food - a type of peas or beans. In the United States, they are associated with the southeastern part of the country.

Don't actually much like them myself.

thanks mike, i never thought of peas!

(mike answered my original question, which i moved to make place for the track list of the DVD. my question was:
does anyone knoe what means "better than black eyed peace/piece" (sp.?). the producer says that after playback, and frank repeats: you don't like that, you don't like black eyed....)

Movin' with Nancy DVD

Dear Steffen,

I'm glad You are enjoying Your "Movin' With Nancy" DVD! I love mine too!

I wholeheartedly agree with You regarding that beautiful gesture from Frank to Daughter Nancy during the recording of "Younger Than Springtime". He lifts his necktie and waves with it to her. That is one of the most beautiful Father-Daughter moments I have ever seen, and it touches me very deeply because I love them both so much.

And it's on Film, and will last forever!

Movin' With Nancy DVD

Movin' With Nancy DVD is TOTALLY AWESOME...MWN is still my favorite after all this time.

Yesterday or the day before on the internet...thought I saw that A Man And His Music Parts One and Two are now on DVD...Nancy is in Part Two. If I remember right, she sings 'Bang, Bang' '...Boots...' and a duet with dad 'Yes Sir That's My Daddy/Baby'... She wore her famous pink mini with matching boots...at the end, her dad thanks everyone and she comes out totally glamourous wearing a gorgeous long dress and heels. What a contrast!!!

Also: ANOTHER cool appearance with Nancy is her guesting on The Man From UNCLE...It's now out on VHS...She looks totally gorgeous and her duets with David McCallum are wonderful...

Nancy posted an item about a special called 'Movin' With Nancy Nice 'N Easy'? Does anyone know anything about it? I only know about the 'Movin With Nancy' and 'Movin With Nancy On Stage'
DON'T know how I missed that one.

It would be nice if Nancy could get together all of her movies/tv etc. on DVD...

the gesture

hi!
elizabeth, that tie waving gesture is cute too, nancy must laugh so hard, but mustn't make a sound, because her dad is recording!
i meant the other gesture during playback. here is a pic from that moment. he holds his hand for several seconds in that position, and nancy just listens.

nancy talked in another thread about her two other specials i think. one is live on stage, the other one (might be 'nice and easy' featured jim hensons muppets. i think it was finished but never shown, could that be?). i think she plans to put them out on DVD.

Dear Steffen,

Please forgive me. You did write "during playback". Once again, I agree with You wholeheartedly! Both gestures touch me deeply! I believe they are both extremely beautiful Father-Daughter moments, forever captured on Film. Thank You for including the photograph for clarification. Do You also have a photograph of the tie waving gesture? If not, that's okay. I have the Video, and both gestures are deeply embedded in my mind and in my heart!

hi rick,
yes, InterVideo WinDVD is installed on my PC, i don't know which version (my PC is a year old). i just press the key 'P' and it saves the actual image of the DVD as bitmap. great to play around!

i made 3 pictures, converted them into gif's, and used microsoft gif animator to create the animation.

'Sugar Town'

i am just watching MWN - again.
the third song is 'sugar town'. does anyone know why it wasn't included on the soundtrack album (i only have the CD, and if it was omitted on the original LP, it could have been a bonus track on the CD !?).
thanx

Dear Steffen,

Hey, Thanks for the Tie Waving Scene! I love it! Very creative! Just look at the love and joy in Frank's face as he waves to his beautiful Baby Girl, who absolutely adores him! Oh, how I adore them both!
Thank You!

Younger than Springtime, a beautiful song by the world's greatest artist. If there is a way to wear out a DVD track, I'll probably do it on this one. He has never sounded better.

WinDVD

Sometimes comes with a computer package, but I got the newest version - WinDVD 4 - when it came out a couple of months ago. It seems to be far superior to anything else going AT THE MOMENT. I've had 'em all: Power DVD, Cinemaster and earlier Win DVD. There are amazing features (on V4) like dead-easy capture & sound & viewing options. And far less problems. (My "Movin' With Nancy" is ridiculously dark, but WinDVD 4 gives the the option of being able to see it perfectly.) And it seems to be all-regions - not that my puta is...

I can now easily capture a frame, tweak it with Irfanview* and print it as a quality 8 X 10.

BTW: If anyone has problems with their DVD player on their puta, download (free shareware!) DVD Genie - it's really great for tweaking all the major-brand players.

* Irfanview (more shareware) is my viewer & I couldn't live without it. It's totally amazing for quickly prepping pix for upload.
eg. I can scan, resize/resample, color-tweak, crop etc & upload for this site in a minute or two. Irfanview uses as default the file-type of the previous job. It's bug-free. It's German, but there's an English version.

Movin With Nancy DVD

Win dvd:

Thanks Rick...for sharing your computer knowledge...I've got to check if that program is on my IBM Thinkpad X20 laptop...

Personally, I wouldn't mind having all the stills there are from Movin With Nancy...as it is my favorite...I used to have all the magazine covers that came out to advertise the original special...

(After the day I've had...

...I'm beginning to think I know nothing at all about computers...like, ZILCH...everythings screwed up!!!

Well maybe you should get WinDVD. Print out EVERY frame from MWN as a still, and wallpaper the house with 'em!!! It was in Architectural Digest last month. They had go-go boots dipped in brass for vases.)

"On Stage" and "Nice and Easy"

Nancy's second special, "Movin With Nancy, On Stage" aired during The Ed Sullivan Show time frame. In fact, Ed himself introduced the special to audiences before it began!

It is from Nancy's Vegas show, and if I am correct, was put together from different performances but had to be cut to fit the one hour time period. Nancy has said it is about one and a half hours in length. I hope my memory serves me well on that!

I will have to say, it is supurb...and is as different from the first special as night and day. The only thing that is the same is the quality of the performances. Nancy shines like the spotlight from the top of The Luxor during her show. It's fast paced, includes some great performances by The Osmonds, The Blossoms, (who just happens to include Darlene Love) and as always, Nancy has surrounded herself with the very best...Nancy's late husband, Hugh Lambert works the crew on several dance numbers and blends the whole show together to make it a fast hour of fun and excitement. The ending which includes two songs, is a moment I'll never forget! Nancy singing Holly Holy and leaving goose bumps on my arms...and also Draw Me A Circle is a nice "thank you" to the audience.

NOW, on to the "Nice and Easy"...

This one was never released and from what I am told, is not in complete form for releasing without some "tweeking" of sorts. Perhaps Nancy will fill us in on that one.

Hope this answers some questions that have been discussed here!

Danny
