What about me?

I feel so left out - you guys gave up on my lyrics. Oh well, if anyone wants to give it one last shot, here they are.

Count me in from one to two
But nothing more or less will do
Just me and you

Second hint: This psychadellic-like song is featured on Nancy's 1998 CD release "How Does It Feel?"

My Dad (My Pa)

<< "He could even move a mountain, if he really wanted to" >>

Nice one Danny,

It's My Dad (My Pa)
from the Nancy album released in 1969

Nancy sang part of the song three years earlier in '66 on her fathers TV show, A Man And His Music Part II

Hey Nancy

Please join in and post some lines from your songs.

You can test us all.

Mike thinks he knows all of them, maybe you can catch him out.
That would be funny.

Hey Lea

Danny, Richard, and Susan know all Nancy's songs and lyrics. I think I do, but I'll be willing to take a test.

I know the one you just posted, but I'll leave it for one of the others to figure out.

Meantime, I'll roll this one in, too:

Every time I think love's runnin' fine
You sidetrack me on a dead-end line!

Footnote on this one is: It is an incredibly effective example of Nancy dubbing her own backup and singing a perfectly matched duet with herself. I listened to this many times, marveling at the sheer perfection of it, when it finally occurred to me no backup singer could so match that golden voice - except her.

Hi Mike

I was just wondering if there are any Nancy song books available anywhere?

I have seen plenty of song sheets on ebay but these work out to expensive buying them this way.

Nancy song book

Hey Lea - If there is such a thing, Richard, Danny, or Susan would know about it. I have never seen nor heard of one.

All of them

<< Any recommendations for the future? >>

Yes,

Buy them all.

Maybe you should try BOOTS and SHEET MUSIC next.

Lightning's Girl is the best one to start with.
It was also the first one I bought.

Once you have played this you will want to buy all of Nancy's albums.

Nancy song book

If there isn't one then maybe there should be.

It would be nice if there was a limited edition Nancy song book containing all Nancy's favourites and it could be packed with pictures.
Maybe it could be sold only to fans from her website.

I would buy two copies.

Nancy CD recommendations

Hey Cynthia Ann - Try to find One More Time - this is Nancy's 1995 "comeback" album and is ripping good, freshly-recorded stuff from our all-grown-up little girl.

Among the Reprise reissues, I particularly love Nancy and Nancy In London.

As Lea says: Get them all. Lightning's Girl was an excellent first choice, as it has 24 tracks (or so), covers many of her earlier hits, and has many of the great duets with Lee. Now that you have it, you can seek out newer stuff and avoid some duplication.

Eventually, you'll want Boots and How Does That Grab You?, too.

Of course - California Girl is tops, and contains the most haunting love song I've ever heard Nancy do, and it isn't even in English!

Just three more words: Get Sheet Music!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I really struggled over my first CD but I kept coming back to Lightning's Girl. I'm glad you guys approve and I will follow your recommendations for future purchases. I just wish my first one would come. How long does it take to get a CD from Amazon anyway!?

Alternate source

Hey Cynthia Ann - I have ordered most of my Nancy CDs from Tower Records.

Tower Records

Just type "Nancy Sinatra" in the search window and you'll get a list of what they have. Last I looked, they still had One More Time, even though it is long out of print.

Good luck!

A slight twist

What line did Nancy leave out of her version of "Until It's Time For You To Go"?
