Nancy at the Sage, Gateshead

My wife Clare and I got to see Nancy at the Sage, Gateshead (Newcastle Upon Tyne) last night.

We really thought it was great.
She mentioned on stage that one of the members of our Forum had said that Scotland was in the North of England LOL
Barry?

She sang Bang Bang (My baby shot me down)
Boots
The Beatles "Run for Your Life" (Little Boy)
Something Stupid (Wonderful)
and a load more! Fantastic!

I have photos and will post them when I get a chance!
She wore a nice outfit chosen by Morrissey.
The support band were brillaint too.
The lead singer/guitarist used to be "in a pop group called Pulp from Sheffield" as he said on stage. I think he was called Richard Hawley.

Nancy, thanks again

Thanks for the update Pete!

I'm looking foward to seeing the pictures!

The updates from everyone who's had the opportunity to see our Nancy keeps her close to those of us back in the States. Seems only fair that we share her with you!

Hi Pete!

It was great to meet you and your beautiful wife, Clare. Thanks so much for taking the time to come see us.

I have a lovely picture of us but I don't have time to post it now.

The overnight on THE BIG BUS was wonderful. It's a great sleep! The ferry across the channel was fun too.

Last night's audience was not a Nancy crowd. they were Frank fans mostly, which is okay, but not as much fun. Actually there was an awful lot of grey hair out there. I guess they don't use Clairol in Newcastle

Also the sound was odd because apparently The Sage is a classical music venue and the monitor guys don't know about pop and rock. Oh, well...

Yes, Richard hawley is the great musician who sharing the bill with us on the tour. He was my first choice. He works with Jarvis cocker of Pulp. Jarvis and Richard wrote and co-produced two of the songs on my latest c.d.

Greetings from Rotterdam. All's well...

Nancy, Clare and Pete

This is a pic of Nancy, Clare (my wife) and me backstage in Nancy's dressing room!!

We all chatted for a bit and had a group hug and wished each other good luck!
It was a great moment! Cheers Nancy! She is SO nice!!

Nancy said she had never been to Gateshead/Newcastle before and that she thought a lot of the audience were fans of her Father's. It was a great moment when she sang "Something Stupid" with Frank.
As we left the main Hall people were saying how much they had enjoyed her performance, me and Clare included of course

Good luck on Saturday night Nancy

Pete x

Scotland?

< Pete She mentioned on stage that one of the members of our Forum had said that Scotland was in the North of England LOL
Barry?>

Blimey! Nancy didn't say that, did she? Good job she didn't mention my name! (It was me I guess) I only say these things to give the punters something to laugh about (Or some-ONE to laugh AT!) Anyoldhow... Scotland is in the North of England.Just keep going over the border. Does nobody here remembers the saying "The BRITISH isles"? England... Ireland.... Wales.... and Scotland. All.....o best beloved...British. Unity is my thing. Not just this little old country but the WHOLE world.

Pete

Maybe you can use the photo with Nancy for your Avatar now? It's a lovely thing to do. You and Clare look really happy. It is a great experience to meet a legend and get a photo to remember the occasion by. Cheers

thanks everyone!!

Barry, she DID say that on stage LOL (but she didnt mention you by name). I think she was only joking when she said it though!!!
It brought a laugh from the audience!

Good idea about the avatar! Think I will do just that!!

Nancy took some photos when she was on stage and may post them in this thread which would be great!!

I am still on a high from last night

Pete

You had a unique experience. I'm not surprised you are still high! I met Nancy last year. I am still on a high about it. That's why I did the Avatar. It's a constant reminder of a "moment" in my life.
People in England can't believe that I have met and converced with Nancy. The Sinatra family are unique Pete. Only highly talented, "top of the range" people in the world are natural and friendly. It's PART of their intelligence.

My two cents: we don't need another avatar picture of me around here. It's not the Nancy site it the family site and we keep an important flame.

Avatar?

Hi Nancy Would you rather I remove my Avatar then? I'm not sure how I would do that?. I would be sad to do that, but you are the boss around here.

Barry, ol' chap

The thought ran through my mind of shrinking down my picture of Nancy & I to that purpose, then I realized that shrinking her into a little box like that serves no purpose.

But please don't misunderstand, I really like your picture with Nancy. Susan once had a nice one where Nancy had shorter hair (I love it long though). Uwe, or as you call him "ewe" (that's cute) had one, Kristian had one, and I believe Danny has one.

Pete, thank you very much for sharing your picture of Clare, Nancy, and yourself. The photographer was either gifted or lucky because the lighting is spot on and everyone looks great.

John, i think you are right about the Photo. We all look good even if I do say so myself!! It was taken by Nancy's tour manager. He was called John too!!

Clare thinks that if I use the photo as an Avatar then we will all be extremely small (a lot smaller than yours Barry, as there are 3 of us, so I think I may just keep the one I have)

Susan, thanks, we really like our photo!!
