<< even in retrospect >>

I wonder why MikeinLA doesn't just stop by for a moment to say he is alright?
It only takes a moment.
I know he is very busy.

We all go through cycles.
I sometimes loose all ambition then I kind of get all charged up again.
I never loose interest though.
For instance I have been listening to one side (side 2) of 'September Of My Years' for the past three days now.

'Once Upon A Time' is playing at the moment.

That is the thing with Sinatra you can listen to any album over and over and never tire of it.

At my local Wal-Mart I had them set aside The Classic Duets CD and the 'Young Blue Eyes' Cd for me.

I admire NAncy Sinatra for all the things she is...She has a lot of depth..and the fact that she interacts with people on this board and puts herself "out there"..that tells me a lot...Nancy gets my vote for being a "cool" person.

I've said before the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame without Nancy Sinatra is an empty place as far as I'm concerned.

The Rock "N Roll Hall of Fame is just a glorified video arcade and popularity club. Madonna isn't rock 'n roll yet they had to rush her in as soon as she was eligible this year (one former HOF board member criticized that).

Fans of other artists have circulated petitions to get them in the HOF, but they are wasting their time because the HOF doesn't take petitions seriously. Only artists who have been approved by the pretentious critics of publications like Rolling Stone get into the HOF. It's all very arbitrary. The Cars are good but do they really belong in the HOF?

My enjoyment, appreciation and admiration of an artist doesn't depend on their membership in the HOF. Is it really necessary to impose a sports mentality on music? Music should be a subjective thing, not a competition.

Frank Sinatra's children never win music awards You know that. It's against the rules.

Thank you for your support everyone.

Nancy, without you there would not be a Madonna, Whitney, Pink, etc. YOU paved the way for all of the women in rock. You should be very proud of yourself. You were doing "videos" long before they were ever thought of. ( Movin with Nancy )
You have always been a one step ahead of them all. You do belong in the Hall Of Fame....being Frank's daughter had nothing to do with any of that. You made it happen.
There will never be another you. You will, in my eyes, as well as so many others, will always be the eternally cool, hip, classy Nancy. The woman that paved the way for so many women in rock.
Be as proud of all of that, as we, your loyal loving fans are.

Nancy Sinatra not in the R&RHOF is bullshit. In Britain, that's rubbish.
Mariah Carey paid homage the other night with her red mini and go-go boots.

I do appreciate all of your kind comments but I assure you that Frank Sinatra's children do not win awards in music. The only thing we did right was to be born to him. Get it?

Yet they seem to have a swagger of humanitarian honours and awards placed upon them. I wonder which are more credible?

I know you're kidding, but...this is true for some people who are related to legends, but not you, Nancy. What you have done is yours alone, and many adore you who are unfamiliar with FS. You are something else. And a mensch...

I'm not kidding That's the way it has worked all of our lives. The only one of us who has one a major award is my sister and that was a Golden Globe for, guess what, the miniseries called SINATRA.

I do appreciate the nice remarks though and humbly thank you all. I am just trying to make a point, not argue.

One of the biggest slams that I can remember is not even a nomination for Movin' With Nancy although Jack Haley, Jr won as producer. He couldn't have done it without you, it wouldn't have existed without you both in front and behind the camera. It was your baby.

Exactly. He won for producing or directing or something and he said in his speech that he didn't understand why the academy chose to ignore Nancy. I already knew they would. They always do. It goes with the territory.

Please don't misunderstand, I am not bitching about this, but trying to explain how it works. That's a difficult task when I don't really understand it myself. It's just a simple fact of our lives. Nothing new.

I was thinking the very same thing. Jack Haley even mentioned the slight in his own acceptance speech. Praise from Caesar, and totally lost on the television Academy.

I hope the knowledge that this effort was groundbreaking, so wonderfully talented, and timeless is some compensation.

Although Nancy definitely deserves the accolades of her peers in the entertainment industry, I think the greatest tribute is the admiration and appreciation by those of us who are affected by her work and her kindness.

I agree Andrew. Wasn't it Mark Twain who said that imitation is the highest form of flattery?
