Gerry
That is one of the few songs I like in the two volumes. A poignant plea from a girl in love with a boy, to another girl who is trying to steal him away. How tragic it all was in those days when we were in such a hurry to grow up.

I downloaded the cd this morning and it's playing now. I really love it! I enjoy the flashback to a more innocent time in music. The production and vocals are happy...if that makes any sense. The only song I had heard was "Cuff Links" which I have always loved. I had not heard it for a long time and it quickly put a smile on my face. When I saw "Tammy" I was unsure as I love Debbie's version and it's always hard to cover a signature song. My doubts quickly vanished. Nancy had no problem even then owning a song and she does a great job. When I listened to "You Can Have Any Boy" for some reason I kept thinking this song would have fit perfectly in Grease. I can just see Sandy singing that song thinking about all the Pink Ladies out to get Danny. Ending the cd with "Personality" ensures you leave with the same smile that "Cuff Links" started. It is also interesting to listen to these tracks and the current cd and hear the growth in Nancy's voice. I think she sounds great on these projecting a young innoncent sound. On the current cd she sounds like the in control woman she has became. I encourage everyone to get these songs. Nancy you continue to make your fans proud.

Do you remember how many takes you had to do of "Like A Girl Like Me" Nancy? Sounds like a nightmare to sing, although you come across as having a great time with it.
I'd never heard this song before. Love the whole collection and they all sound so fresh and clean after pro tools mastering. |

I have never tried doing a music download before, but I am dying to hear these songs. Is it complicated and do I need anything besides my computer to do it? Thanks!

Chad, if I can do it, you can do it.
Go to iTunes.com, download the software and create an account. All you need is a computer and hopefully a broadband or dsl connection. A dial-up works but be prepared to download hours for one album. |

Dial up took me about three hours
But it is worth every minute!

Darn
I may have to wait then until they restore DSL here next month. Thank you for the info and I am going to give it a try. I can at least set up the account. All this new fangled technology is so confusing for old folk like me.

I know what you mean, Mike. It took me 8 hours to download "Woman" I just let it go all night but it was well worth it to have it on CD.

<< I let you down with the Christmas c.d. so I had to do SOMETHING! >>
You recorded, SOMETHING, too? I love that song You didn't let anyone down, Nancy. Better that it's done great than now. Susan, it takes me a long time to download tracks from iTunes at home, too but I can do it at work as long as I don't put that ahead of work. Last edited by Gregory; 12-15-2005 at 05:49 PM. |

I don't know if you were kidding but Nancy has recorded Something. It is available on her Sheet Music CD and also at iTunes.

No, I don't remember, but I can tell you that since these sessions were done live with the orchestra, chances are there were only a couple or three takes per song. Speaking of Chances Are, I recorded that during the "oy vey" period too! It is too terrible to include in the collecrion. Count your blessings

"Oy Vey"?
I am confused Nancy. What period was that and why did it happen? if that's not a rude question.

She is talking about the years that are covered in the Bubblegum Girl collection, Barry. The early sixties, before she recorded These Boots Are Made For Walkin' and became an "overnight sensation."
I don't understand how to answer your question, how it happened. I guess it happened because she chose singing as a profession. |

Thank you. It must be a great thing to have followed Nancy in her career and to know so much about her. |
