An album associated with a simply splendid TV special....no way to hear any of it without wanting to pull out the DVD, which is a joy all its own....
Can't go wrong when you've got your father, Uncle Dino and Lee H. on the same album! Delightful! Fine as it is, though, "Some Velvet Morning" is the masterpiece: very evocative and atmospheric...not to mention sexy: indeed, I still can't believe a line like "Some velvet morning with I'm straight....I'm gonna open up your gate..." got by the censors! Of course, back then, I was only 12, so I still didn't quite make that connection until later..... Of course I could still be misunderstanidng that line all these years down the road, though, uh, don't think so.....ED

sugar town
Strange that 'Sugar Town' is on the dvd 'movin' with Nancy', but not on CD of same name.
What a great dvd. Would be nice to see other tv specials, if available. Tiggs

The dvd is one of my favorite videos, it's a perfect snapshot of the 60's. The special showed the world more of what Nancy could do. You must see the dvd to truely appreciate the soundtrack.
The soundtrack is a perfect variety of songs with This Town being my favorite Nancy song. I also like Good Time Girl of the bonus tracks. Frank and Dean's songs are highlights too.

Bumping for "I Gotta Get Out Of This Town". One of my favorite tracks of all time.

I like that one too, Mike. It's a fun song and it's even more fun to hear Nancy do it in her show.

It is a fun song. I remember when I used to open my shows with it. Instead of walking out on a stage with a "good to see you" kind of song, the first words out of my mouth were, "I Gotta Get Out of This Town!" The reaction was always one of smiles and laughter, thank heaven. I mean, they might have thrown tomatoes

Nancy and Dean Martin (THINGS) Question
I did a search and I guess the word THINGS is too vague. The only mention I could find was on the Nancy For Frank - Show #74 thread. I'm finding amazing stuff on Youtube. I have a long list of things I want to look for on record or cd.
I came across "Things" and I absolutly love it. A few of the songs I want seem to be only tv appearances and never released on album. Was "Things" ever on an album?? |

Well since you live near the beach, you could improvise lyrics to the same melody, under the title "Thongs".

Country style
I seem to recall reading somewhere that the version off "Movin' with Nancy" is the same version off Dean Martin's 1963 "Country style" but with Miss Nancy's vocals over-dubbed. If this is true, was this a difficult process in it's day?
