Lea - the original cover doesn't look like that. The title is different.

Nancy, I'm glad you brought that up. Last time Lea posted the cover and called it "Nancy and Lee Did You Ever" I was wondering if the UK version was different.

The one I have just simply says "nancy & lee" in the top left quarter and "again" in the bottom right quarter.

Why the difference?

Also he has the UK version listed as 1971. Was it released in the UK first?

Did You Ever?

Hi Nancy & Susan ,

The cover above is the UK version, which is titled NANCY & LEE - DID YOU EVER?
On the back it has copyright 1971 RCA LIMITED.

The single Did You Ever was a big hit here in the UK.
It made #2 in the UK Charts in August 1971 and stayed in the charts for 19 weeks.

The album charted at #31 in the UK in January 1972 and stayed in the charts for 4 weeks.

I guess it was released in the UK before the US.

The US edition is titled NANCY & LEE AGAIN.
On the back it has copyright 1972, RCA RECORDS.

I also have a promo copy of the US edition.
It has a big sticker in the top left corner covering the title.
I will try and post a cover scan of it soon.

Did You Ever CD

I would so love this album on CD. I think "Got It Together" is such a cute song, and "Big Red Balloon" should have been a hit. Absolutely criminal that it wasn't.

Nancy and Lee Again / Did you ever?

Hallo Nancy and everyone!

Lea , thank you so much for posting all the albums again.
It is so GREAT to see the complete collection of NANCY`S WORK
at one place.

I bought the cassette back in 1972.
Later on in the early 90`s i bought several copies of the LP,
both the orginal US version NANCY AND LEE AGAIN and
the European issue DID YOU EVER.

I LOVE it very very much!
Nancy and Lee album from 1968 is classic in every way you can
think, in my opinion. However there is a certain development
in the material and how it is done from the first album.
It is diificult for me to explain exactly what this is.

ARKANSAS COAL is a very diificult song to sing , and NANCY`S
voice is very good at getting a variety of emotions forward in
that song the way it is done by her.
I love the big drama and the more easy parts as well.
NANCY sing the song in a way that you live yourself into it.

DOWN FROM DOVER is a GREAT SONG.
I love the way Nancy does it. Also here you feel the different
emotions with which Nancy sing the song. This song is very
difficult to sing , but Nancy and Lee do it very well.
This song almost charted in the US.
It was in the "BUBBLING UNDER" charts at # 120 for two weeks.
This is one of my favorites from this album.

Nancy and Lee sing country very well , but i think that their quailty
on "DID YOU EVER" goes further than being a country song.
The way they do ths song has got lots of charm and humor.
I love it very much!

I'm riding "The Friendship Train" right now!! I just downloaded the album from Itunes. Although I have some of the songs on the comps. and FairyTales and Fantsies having the entire album is wonderful!!! I did make one minor change, since I had a problem and was only able to get the first 9 tracks of Woman I have a bonus track with "It's The Love". (nothing personal Lee )

Friendship Train

You're so right, Susan. "Friendship Train" is one of the best Nancy & Lee duets (in my opinion). Beautiful orchestration.

It is available on I Tunes, but all the same, would love to have a brand new copy on CD.
It really should be released.

It would make a nice double CD with Nancy and Lee's first collection.

COMPILATION

The Rhino CD release "Fairytales & Fantasies" is a compilation of both the Nancy & Lee albums. It has everything from the first album and a good selection from "Nancy & Lee Again".

Speaking of Lee, we are trying to put together a short tour in the UK for early summer. Wish us luck.

Nancy! Do you mean there is a possibility you will be coming to perform in the UK with Lee? Do I dare hope?
