Sending belated wishes for a happy 71st birthday (July 26), and good thoughts for a speedy recovery to the great Darlene Love. The New York Times reports that Darlene suffered a minor heart attack prior to her performance in New Jersey last Saturday. For more information, click here.

As part of The Blossoms (with Jeannie King and Fanita James), Darlene sang on many of Nancy's recordings (beginning with "Love Eyes") and performed in Nancy's Las Vegas-style stage show.

Darlene had a radiant voice.
One of Cher's first recordings was filling in for Darlene in the studio, under the pseudonym of Bonnie Jo Mason, I believe.
