Gore Vidal was Bill Maher's guest on a special edition of Maher's HBO program last night. Brilliant segment, highly recommended. It will be repeated often today and throughout the week on the various HBO channels. Novelist, screenwriter, playwright, politician, essayist and a guy who SPEAKS HIS MIND eloquently. World War II veteran, a gay man who was out of the closet long before such was fashionable. His political debates with William F. Buckley are classic fun.

Catch a repeat of this show if you can. It's all over HBO. An added bonus is film maker Ron Howard, the only other guest on the program.
