Nico,

A male soul singer, named Norman Connors sang a song called You Are My Starship, where he says "Cause you are my starship
Come take me up tonight, And don't be late".

Is that it?

Well, it wasn't 70s, but could you be thinking of Dinah Washington's, "Destination Moon"? It goes "away we'll steal in my spacemobile, a supersonic honeymoon...." ?

It's a great song.

BTW..Jim...nice ol' soul pullout with You Are My Starship...that is a great song.

this song is a real discotune, the song i'm looking for was more a ballad, with this cosmic vibe

ah! a DISCO song you say? Could it be Star Love by Cheryl Lynn?

http://www.lyricstime.com/cheryl-lyn...ve-lyrics.html
http://music.yahoo.com/library/defau...rack&i=661595&
http://www.discogs.com/release/406606

This song would have been heard bouncing off the walls of discotheques circa '78........

One suggestion: "Clouds across the moon". Let me know if it's the one, Nico!
